• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If he takes advice from Joey and Leon - we might see quitye a shake up.
Definitely Cabango andf Tymon will tighten us up - but what can we create with a new boss.
He certainly wants a high and intense press - so Widell should be a shoe in.

Vigouroux
Tymon
Cabango
Burgess
Key
Galbraith
Yalcouye
Franco
Eom
Ronald
Vipotnik

I think he will go with this tomorrow and first and foremost try to be high energy and irritating to play against. I hope he has taken to Widell and some of the new signings in the early sessions but I think it would be easy to default to those he may know more about at first.

We are never going to get Inoussa up to speed at this rate.. hopefully Joe, Leon and Vimto see things differently.

Quite excited to see what the difference will be this evening. Surely he has watched as many games as possible and can see what qualities some of the players have.

If he’s really set on an aggressive press then Idah is never starting.
He may go:

Vigs

Key Cabango Burgess Tymon
Stananic
Widdel Yalcouye Galbraith Inousa
Vipi

Franco the only one that’s unlucky to miss out but he can press also so may start.

I am both excited and terrified at the prospect of Matos asking for the team to push further up the pitch and asking Cabango and Burgess to hold a higher defensive line. It could be brilliant, or it could turn out to be a car crash.

For now I expect there to be a number of times when we get the concerted press wrong
The instinct to all suddenly press comes from hours of repetition on the training field

It will definitely be an interesting watch though, by the sounds of him the lazy half assed press we got used to seeing most of this season is definitely not his preferred style of play when without the ball

If you are playing a high energetic press, you need people on the bench able to step in as soon as necessary so the press is maintained for as long as possible and Franco would be the ideal first sub for this.

What are everyone's expectations & hopes for this evening?

My expectation is that we will lose but not by much, a 0-1 or 1-2 which, after our last 2 games, would at least be a step in the right direction. Anything else would be an early Xmas present.

My main hopes from the coaching staff are to see a more positive lineup from the start and a much better use of substitutes; and from the players, a different attitude & mentality throughout the team. Every player knows he has the chance to impress and hopefully, this will add enough percent to everyone's performance to make a difference.

I feel pretty meh about this game to be honest. Like disconnected from it. I think it's because the new manager has only been here 5 minutes, so his impact will be minimal at this stage (you'd think) and it feels like the team is drifting like an unmoored boat until he can really put his mark on it.

The players don't really have much of an excuse though, they're all professionals and need to come out and put a shift in regardless. I guess the hope is that they feel like they've been released from whatever creativity-sapping voodoo was over them this season and play with more zip and purpose and we get a morale-boosting result and performance.

My minimum expectation is that the Swans play with the energy of a cup final.
Beyond that we tackle a Derby side that are missing a few key players and are on the road on a short turn around.
Anything less than a win would be troublesome, but if we see tangible improvements to our general (and particularly attacking) play - then I guess we should be mildly encouraged.
I always remember opening day when we lost at Oldham - bad result, but anyone who was there could see the gold at the end of the rainbow.
I think the selection tonight will be very eye opening - as surely out 2 Jack advisors will have huge input. COYS!

Just don't f'ing lose. Reset and move forward.
