S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea 1 Derby 2 | Att: 14,251 | 25/11/25 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

A fairly encouraging first 30-35 minutes where we played the game at a decent pace and probably deserved to be level at HT. Went to bits after the break, even more so after the subs.

Stamenic offers us nothing that Fulton didn't already and based on tonight is worse at it. Benson was even worse. Franco struggled to get into the game and as a mate of mine pointed out, often does when he doesn't start. Easily Cabango's worst game for us too.

Lots of work for Matos to do. Finding someone to take Cullen on loan should be fairly high up that list.

Anyone thinking Galbraith in the no 10 role?

Stamenic and Franco the holders.

Just trying to figure out how we get a tune out of this midfield.
I personally think Galbraith is our best holding midfielder, not seen anything in Stamenic so far and I don't rate Franco. I think Galbraith will get us playing with a quicker tempo.

I am at the stage now where I would play the Brighton kid with Galbraith, Benson and Eom on the wings and starting with the two strikers, old fashioned 4-4-2. Inoussa hasn't done anything so far and Ronald should not start again this season.

Brilliant, let’s get a load of players back from the Tizer league and let them be managed by a novice from the Portuguese second division…problems solved.
I think you’ll find quite a few posts from me last week expressing quite a bit of concern over his inexperience so not sure why you think I’m advocating the choice.

Seriously, you have to laugh. That was so bad, there’s no point in getting too wound up. Just got to hope it gets better. We’ve rolled the dice, let them fall.

Not sure I’d be so sanguine if I’d travelled down mind.

It’s pretty simple, we’re trying to play football at breakneck speed, just look at the way Vipotnik was charging at the keeper in an attempt to close him down, it’s resulting in us being pulled all over the place and reminds me of school yard football.
We need to bring control into our game and that doesn’t mean possession for possessions sake but working the opposition to create the space and overlaps that we need to create the chances.
This high press, high tempo rubbish simply isn’t working and we need a far more balanced approach to our game.

That made me think of the years spent at the Vetch with the prison next door where (apparently) loads used to follow all of our home games through the crowd noise.
Didn't they used to strap the ones who'd misbehaved against that big window looking out over the pitch, and make them watch the match?
They ought to think about reintroducing that. Any bolshy prisoner there now ought to be escorted to the Swansea.Com when we're playing and handcuffed to a seat in the West Stand. They'd soon be begging for mercy.

In this particular case I can’t believe there are enough stats regarding Matos to have made the appointment that way.

I’m fairly certain we must have had a recommendation from someone.
Oh yes, he did his badges at FAW didn’t he?

I think I might lapse into total despair after all.

Yes you have to laugh.

Maybe I won't be after the WBA game ;)

To be fair to him, I thought Fulton was some way off being one of our worst tonight.
