• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

It seemed we deliberately set up to play longer in the first half and then pivoted to playing out more in the second.

If that game proved anything, Galbraith should have played at the base of midfield against Boro.

We really made hard hard work of that and could easily have been pegged back because we were getting dragged down.
some very bright spots and if Malick from BHA is as good as his reputation we could win a good few games.
What, however, was that professional footballer thinking when he ran at pace past the last defenders still waiting for the pass.

Assuming everyone is fit and available the team for me against Sheff Utd has to look like this:

---------------------- Vigouroux -----------------------
Key -------- Casey -------------- Burgess ----- Tymon
---------------------- Galbraith ------------------------
----------------------- Franco --------------------------
Ronald ----------------- Eom ----------------- Inoussa
------------------------ Wales --------------------------

I hope today shuts up the negative whining about how bad this transfer window has been. It’s still not over but we’ve certainly done very well so far imo

Assuming we get Yalcouye done tomorrow, he could very well be involved against Sheffield United. May even start if he’s that good.

We undoubtedly have a stronger squad this season than we did last, even with less bods.

Early days and we know what's needed but I'll still go with a total lack of urgency in our play tonight.

Thoughts.

Liked the way we played, much more zip and drive through midfield.

Casey is a great player. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him oust Burgess and become our main centre back with Cabango.

Galbraith - very very good player. Will be interesting to see him play where he did tonight against championship teams

Inoussa looks very good. I thought Sam Parker had an excellent game at right back and would see no real problems in him as back up this season.

Eom looked good when he came on. Wales looks lively. Vipotnik looked the opposite of lively. Congreve is a bit of a headless chicken.

All in all, job done and we’ve cocked these up before.
Enjoyed it.
Agree with all except the bit about Kasey replacing Burgess.

I'd go with that apart from Eom. Hopefully that's the new lad's place. Eom for me is going to be an impact sub against tiring legs.

Plenty of urgency with range of different passes. Just fluffed too many chances. Vipotnik continues to disappoint with Innoussa better in the air than him. Although against tiring legs Wales looks much sharper

The new lad is a number 8, similar to Kante in his play style so he will offer competition to central midfield with Widell and Franco will offer competition for number 6 with Galbraith.

I've been trying incredibly hard to bat for Vipotnik, getting mighty hard though. Lad's confidence is shot and he's not offering anything.
Not sure why he was dropping so crazy deep at times, he's not Harry Kane

Largely positive against limited opposition. What did we learn?
1. Parker is a good right back
2. Our 3 wide men Innoussa Eom and Ronald are a handful.
3. Tymon is the best crosser of a ball outside the Premier League
4. Apart from a youngster who came on and did well, our striker cupboard is bare
5. Energy and movement in midfield makes us look a much better team. The boy from Brighton will help us upgrade - but man we should have gone with Franco Galbraith and Widell in central midfield against Boro - they don't like it up em Captain Mannering!!
6. They missed a couple of zeros off the asking price for Galbraith. He has the potential to become a club legend, and will surely grace the top division at some stage.
