Just take a moment to celebrate Vitor Matos
Incredible pressing
Defensive stability (Only 1 own goal in 4 home wins with 3 clean sheets)
Good use of the bench (managing in games)
Visibly improving his players individually (Key Yalcouye and Fulton being just 3 examples)
Club is obviously united and the togetherness is showing.
Just took a look and after a couple of wins Boro under Hellberg have now had 3 consecutive defeats.
I am going to nail my colours to the mast - Matos is a keeper - and we had better have a succession plan - because he is going to get poached by a bigger club in approximately 16-18 months time.

Excellent effort to have won 5 from 7 👏

Thought we were excellent off the ball, with the exception of that 10 minute spell half way through the second half.

A lot still to do in terms of decision making and execution in the final 3rd. Hopefully we can squeeze more out of the current personnel on that front, but if not we need a couple of additions who are calmer and more clinical next summer.

Onwards and upwards! STID

I have never seen one given though. And it happens every game multiple times. Vigouroux does it all the time (takes longer than he should).

If that had led to a goal it would have been a travesty.
The ref made a point of it because he collapsed into the ball for absolutely no reason.

Can't argue with that. Some of the football today was brilliant. I've never seen a team press like that before. Killed them first half

In their defence I don’t think either Vipotnik or Wales could have done much more with their chances.

Vipotniks you just have to give credit to the defender getting back and sensing the danger to put in the block.

Wales had three around him and had to take the chance when he did
Wales’ chance was pretty difficult by the time he struck it. A quicker forward would have had more time maybe. And he’d only just come on.

Vipotnik’s chance was a pretty good chance at this level. As it happens, didn’t matter.

A shout out for Bobby Wales who did everything that was asked of him. Very composed on the ball and some clever touches. I know it was only fifteen minutes or so, but he put himself about.
I thought Wales was good value. I hope he gets involved more in the first team picture especially if Idahs injury is on the longer side rather than recruiting a new forward

What I'm enjoying the most about this team under Matos is that every player is instructed to close down every player and win the ball back. Also unlike Sheehan Subs are actually having an impact and not just making an appearance.

Up until yesterday only five times in the premier league has a keeper been penalised for it
I’ve never seen one. Would have been ridiculous if they’d scored. It wasn’t that far over the time. And part of it was because their forward was blocking the clearance.

It’s a rarity for sure, but I doubt the ref would have punished him if he didn’t collapse into the ball after collecting it
