• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

We have been lacking a genuine second stiker or attacking midfielder, and are boxed in to a single approach to attacking i.e wing play.
In my opinion we have to get our best player on the ball - EG30 - and start Widel, Cullen or Idah behind either Idah or Vip. We meed to vary out attacks through that second striker to vary our attacks.
IF i was picking a team for saturday it would look like this
vig - casey cabango burgess tymon - galbraith stamenic - ronald widel inoussa - idah
Plenty of changes on the hour mark to keep the tempo high.
But hey what the eff do i know??

Can't wait for a severely out of form Norwich to turn up and see how we'll make them look like prime 1970 Brazil

Personally I feel Eom could be the answer to our 10 problem.

We've been here so many times with Cullen, the lad is just too inconsistent to nail down a regular starting place.

I would like to see Vip and Idah playing together to be honest, think they could form a decent partnership, bring Wales back on the bench get him some minutes off the bench then.
Same here, I think they'd work well together up front. We seem to have a huge gap in between our midfield and lone striker.

I love a 4-4-2 formation which gives the opposition back four something to think about when it comes to marking two strikers.

This formation along with a high press could be the answer to our problems.

Think that is what is frustrating about Sheehan , as awful as things have been he's not trying anything different. Why not try Widell as a 10 , or Eom, or try 2 up top. Cullen isn't the answer as a 10 . He's just trying the same things week in week out and expecting different results.

I just don't see it with Eom, what exactly does he do?

0 goals and 0 assists in 10 league appearances (424 minutes) this season
3 goals and 2 assists in 37 league appearances (2,303 minutes) last season

So he's played the equivalent of just over 30 full league games for us and has 3 goals and 2 assists to his name.

He's easy on the eye in possession with his control and skill but his final product is massively lacking (and has been since he joined). A goal every 10 games and an assist every 15 games as an attacking player is hardly a compelling case for him to be the solution to our creativity issue

Of course you are correct in your post, just think fans are so desperate to turn results around that we are prepared to try anything different to what's happening now.

I get that, I just think Eom has shown so far that he's nothing more than a squad player at this level.

Cullen would offer more of a goal threat, as he's seemed at his best when he's arriving late into the box. Widell should be given a chance, given the money he cost and the hype around his signing at the time. Bobby Wales is seemingly too good for the reserves but not good enough to make a matchday squad for the first team. I have no doubt Galbraith can be effective if pushed further forward.

There are plenty of options (including a change in formation, as mentioned by others) but Sheehan seems to be determined to turn it around by using the same few players in the same setup

The problem with Cullen is that if you take his goals out he's completely ineffective. He just doesn't create anything in the Dobbie or Paterson mould.

That is true, which is why he wouldn't be my first choice. My original point was about Eom though, who doesn't create either but also comes without the goal threat of Cullen (having typed that, I just remembered Cullen's free kick towards the end of the game on Wednesday 🤦‍♂️ )

Not looking forward to the game at all, it's been depressing viewing over there so far this season, and you just know Josh Sargent is going to rekindle his goalscoring form. Another winless day at the stadium is my prediction.

Maybe if he was shifted in to the ten role we would see more creativity from him. Also there's only so much he can do, it's up to the rest of the team to support him when he's got the ball.

Eom infuriated me on Wednesday night. We were down to 10 with almost everyone at least putting a shift in and quite near us he lost possession three times and stood still looking miserable.
No attempt to track back and support his team mates. No appreciation of what the situation required of him.
He's a capable footballer and when things are going for him he's effective. He's far too inconsistent and not a team player for me.

I agree, it's as f he just wants to show his talents but most of the time it's to the detrimental of the team.
