• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

It isn't though. We created next to nothing again and were saved by two thundercuntd
Oh just enjoy the goals. It's happened against us enough times and we bemoan the lack of a finisher. It's good to have a striker who can hit a ball like that and mean that most of us are happy this Saturday.

We hit the post, Eom should have got a shot off instead of cutting in on his right,Galbraith blazed over when he should be hitting the target.
It was better but there are still some alarming issues that stood out today.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it was papering over cracks but they need to be instructed and coached to do things better.

Desperately needed that win today. Thought we started with a higher tempo but we’re just struggling to control a game for any prolonged period - still not 100% if that’s down to instruction from the manager or a lack of confidence and/or ability on the pitch. Probably a combination of all 3.

Without more consistent performances it’s likely to be many more weeks of 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss unfortunately.

We got the 3 points.

Vipotnik saved our bacon and luckily Sheehan delayed the substitutions because he wouldn't have been on for the 2nd goal.
I have a few concerns with how we are as a team and set up but I will keep that for another day.
Anyone watching it on TV, was the Norwich lad offside out wide to the build up for their goal?
Looked a yard or so from where I was in the stadium.
The angle didn’t show it. I thought the guy that scored might also have been marginally offside as he looked in front of the ball, but again, the angle wasn’t there on tv.

He’s got one hell of a dig on him 😮‍💨

No, xG is probability, not prediction.
And that’s my point, if we carry on with xG figures like this then we probably won’t win.
Sorry Coops, you're never going to convince me this xG nonsense is anything other than nonsense.

It's fairly obvious if the team isn't creating chances we won't score. The fact we scored two goals today and this stat is predicting we won't score one is just a load of bollocks.

Much needed win

We need a 10 in every game.. we've been saying that since August

And that isn't Cullen or Eom

Credit to us (and mostly Vipotnik) for the win. I thought we looked bright after we scored the first goal and we looked the best we have in a while going forward but then dropped off massively.

Defensively still we look pretty powder puff, teams seem to play through the middle of us with ease and I think a better team would have taken advantage of that today. We just never seem to have control of a game and I think that’s down to the midfield set up. Stamenic was excellent today though, would love to see him and Galbraith play as true 6s.

Thank God we have Vipotnik who can score from pretty much anywhere because I think any other striker would really struggle in this team. Didn’t understand taking him off at all.

Grateful for the 3 points but really not convinced by us.

My first in person game for some time today, I enjoyed it. Two belting goals, three points and a decent (if not what you’d call good) performance. Norwich are shite mind.

Not sure what all you real fans have been moaning about all this time.

What about the super important xG? What you saying?

One instruction that is really getting to me, players standing off and and not pressing or even pushing up as a unit defensively. We are losing out to far too many 2nd and 3rd balls because they are clearly being instructed to hold their shape.

It's like night and day compared to last season, we are making it far too easy to allow teams to play through us.

No worries. We’ve all done this xG thing plenty of times before anyway and it’s always going to be a metric which causes debate.

Three points TODAY is the main thing TODAY.

That’s me done now as well. Quick turn around after a 3S and we’re off out.
