S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | WBA 3 Swansea 2 | Att: 22,200 (1,032) | 29/11/25 | The EFL Championship l The Hawthorns

The owners need to get their hands in their pockets come January if they want to stay in this league.
We need rid of Idah, Fulton, Cullen, Ronald, maybe Inoussa, maybe Key, maybe Eom.
We need a decent striker, box to box midfielder, two wingers.
Maybe Matos needs to look again at our youngsters too. Parker certainly looked Championship standard a couple of years ago. What's changed?
If I was the owner then I would not be considering chucking money in Jan given what was produced in the summer with good funds supplied.

It will be loans and bargains with players going out the door.

Not a problem, i bet our player recruitment team are on it already..........

Actually, there are probably more examples of people who have previously defended the team but for whom today was a breaking point.

Don't think it's helpful to indulge in petty points scoring with fellow fans when we're in the mess we're currently in Cadleigh.
I actually wasn’t referring to you. I was only saying today to another regular poster on here how good your posts are.

It’s the posters who consistently post that we are doomed. No analysis, no alternatives, just negativity. We know they feel that way. Maybe they can just post a ‘doomed’ emoji so they can enjoy whatever catharsis they experience from repeating the same old mantra again and again, like Cato the Elder ending every speach with ‘Carthage Must Be Destroyed’ even when he was speaking about public lavatories in Trastavere.

If posters who previously wanted to discuss football rather than sharing their own private psycho-dramas tipped over the edge today and went full Private Fraser then apologies - I wasn’t referring to them. Or you.

Do you think it’s worth getting lissah and Wilson back from Falkirk or are they too inexperienced for the fight ?
What about glory nzingo his loan spell ends 31/12.
Matos has a track record of developing young players , but is it the right time?
Absolutely not. We need experience and not some untested youngsters.

If we go down then their time will then come but it would be a silly man who would even consider gambling with these 2 in our position presently.

You can't put any blame on Matos, he is here now and he needs to be given time.

The appointment was made in arrogance, it was made because the decision makers thought they could pull another Martinez or Rodgers out of the bag. The timing of it just highlights their arrogance and Naivety.
We haven't got time this Is a relegation team. Make no doubt about it.

Is it written in every Swansea managers contract that it's illegal to make a half time sub? They we're coming at us from the 15th minute onwards we were lucky to be 2 goals ahead.

What's the point making the change at 2-2 the damage is already done

So you suggest to sack him after 2 games?
What happens then, bring another manager in and sack him after 2 games?

Sometimes you have to realise the issue is more than the manager. One thing for certain and it won't please the owners, January window is now no longer going to be a quiet one.

Cabango, Burgess and Timon have not become bad players all of a sudden. Yes, we have problems in some key areas (pun not entirely unintended) but I think a lot of it is down to confidence and to tactics. So the manager is crucial to both of those problems.

We do need to strength in the transfer window though.

Genuine question if we lose both Pompey and Oxford, do we gamble and get a Rowatt type appointment (idk if there is any of those about) we cannot mess around here we need results.

Giving it to a guy who has managed 12 games in the 2nd Portugese division without his backroom staff is just shows a complete lack of appreciation for the position we are in.

Do you genuinely think the club will bin a manager after a handful of games after paying up for his release from his previous club, wasn’t it around £1m with everything in? How much will it cost to pay him off and bring another manager in?

If you think VM is a poor appointment and that he needs replacing, just maybe you should be questioning whether the people who appointed him should be replaced first.
The trajectory has been downward for a while, maybe the issues are bigger than the managerial appointment.

FWIW I’m surprised VM was appointed as I’d have gone for more experience, but I’ve been impressed with his honesty and comments and I think he needs to be given time. What we’ve seen over last few games isn’t down to him and to expect him to turn things around overnight is unreal.

Defence: Cabango is not only NOT a captain, he's not even a good enough player to keep his place. Key is so bad (why can't he stay in the fullback position all game and forget attacking), Burgess is a very good player but his form is going down the pan playing with those two. Midfield needs players who don't fall down, play-acting every 10 minutes. Full backs need to learn that the tighter you are to your man, without fouling, stops the crosses in the first place. Also, the obvious one, every player fights for every ball for 90+ minutes, no arguments. We're in the shit, and need a team with fight, forget trying to play fancy football out from the back, we're incapable of doing that. It's survive or die from here on in.

Burgess is excellent in the air outside the area.. sadly reading the game, distribution and lack of pace gets exposed in every game. Pair that with Cabango's similar traits then you have double trouble

Ok, I see where you are coming from now. I tend towards agreeing with you, it does get a bit cloying at times, still don't think it's all that helpful though. And I didn't take it as being aimed at me, so none taken 👍🏻
