The only conclusion to be drawn from tonight is that our Championship status is now entirely dependent on a new head coach who is a total rookie at this level of football.

Agreed. Unfortunately I’ve got less and less confidence in those making the football decisions at the club with each passing day.

Someone has watched his 12? games in Portugal and/or listened to his presentation of how he wants his teams to play and thought it was a good idea to appoint someone who wants the full backs to be inverted/narrow/tucked in and the wingers to receive the ball coming backwards in the middle 3rd of the pitch (must have happened 20+ times tonight). Whoever is making that decision clearly hasn’t watched anything that has actually happened on the pitch at Swansea over the last few years, and hasn’t the first clue about the actual strengths/weaknesses of the individuals in the squad.

Hate overreacting - after all he’s had 1 or 2 proper training sessions, doesn’t know any of the staff and there’s potentially a language barrier in terms of getting a message across.

However, these days he could have watched any/all our matches, had all the data (stats and eyes based) from all matches and training so not ‘knowing’ the players is not really an excuse.

Norwich dropping points again today is a bonus but as things currently look we’re in a battle with Oxford & Portsmouth and need to hope that someone else drops like a stone in the next 5-10 games.

At some point we have to start trusting the players we develop. It would be nice to bring them into a winning team, but could Congreve be worse than Ronald or Benson? Or Parker worse than Key. Hard to see how.

It is just so depressing, what anyone sees in Benson is beyond me but we are just so slow, every other team has moved up a gear, we look lethargic and an error prone performance every game.

I spent many years working with American lawyers and consultants every single day. A few of them were genuinely the most frustrating people I’ve ever met. On one project they all wore matching t shirts with the company logo on them. Every day. They had them in every colour. One group had a motivational corporate song that they shared with us one morning. The London staff were under their desks laughing.

Hopefully Matos can turn it around but currently we can’t defend, can’t pass and have no quality in attack. That only usually leads to one thing. The club have made their bed though so I think the manager should be given time no matter what happens. You’ve given him a 4 year contract have some brass and stick by the project.

You and me both. Hadn't felt so energised about the Swans in years, felt like there was a feel good factor around the club again, we've started to get a lot of things right off the pitch and I (naively perhaps) had hoped that would start to manifest on the pitch.

Fair to say it hasn't.

I honestly am not looking for a fight. You joined a few weeks ago (September) with some really strident and very negative opinions from the get-go and it's not usual for a newbie on forums like this one to suddenly appear with no history and become immediately very active unless they are either a refugee from another forum, someone who has changed their identity for reasons best known to themselves or they a troll. So yes, I find it rather odd. And yes, I accept that your mate has vouched for you and you are what you seem.

If I was stalking you I would be responding to your posts on every thread on this forum. Unless you have only posted on threads I've been active on then that's pallpably not true, so let's move on shall we. And let's not use language like 'hit in the face' in case it is mistaken for a threat.
