its deffo different at the ground watching than on tv
take yesterdays game ,at the ground, shouting , moaning, calling players and manager names frustrated, blood pressure sky high , and probably wanting a wee.
in the house, moan and moan keep saying shyte.
but at the ground or the house when we score its a scream of YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSS.

still doesnt alter the fact something isnt right,
Part and parcel of going to the ground is shouting at the players and the manager 🤣

You can't beat the feeling of a goal going in and random people hugging each other for a brief second before going back to being perfect strangers again.

Something isn't right at the moment, will it click, I'm sure it will eventually. Sometimes we need to take the rough with the smooth.

Sorry And, I'm not being funny but why should I lower my expectations with 2 shots on target yesterday? What should I lower it to, 1 per game?

That was going to erupt yesterday before vip sorted again, so I think I'm very much in the majority
I think it was 3 SOT, 2 by VIP and one by Ronald. 👍

The two most boring teams have ruined football for me the last few years and they are playing each other Wednesday in the league cup.

Sheehan needs up his game lot in the entertaining stakes. Even big dinosaur Sam said fans want to see goalmouth action not sideways/backwards passing.

Very poignant post and the same has probably happened to me. I did find my love for the game again, this summer.

He does need to pull his finger put and find the style of that game to his team fairly easily towards the end of last season.

The fact he can play a certain brand of football is what makes me dig my heels in and back him.

Womp womp, we won the game, yet some people are still unhappy. Gloom and doom always attracts more attention than glimpses of progress. Complaining after "only" seeing just two thunder strikes feels over the top. There are signs of improvement, some players given a chance to impress (Cullen/Eom) and we got three points in the bag. On to the next one it is (y)

I'm not as long in the tooth as some on here but I have been following the Swans for 35 years. In that time, I would say the only times I have been genuinely entertained were as follows:
  • Frankie Burrows's 92/93 play off side with two wingers on each flank, Coughlin pulling the strings in midfield and Ford and Lyttle, two good attacking full backs.
  • 96/97 Jan Molby's play off team, great fun to watch (if a little ropey at the back but that was part of the fun)
  • 2003-2005 with Trunds and Robbo having a laugh most weeks and often entertaining for entertainment's sake.
  • 2007-2013 under Roberto, Brendan and Laudrup. Nuff said.
  • A smattering of games during the Potter season.
That's about 10 years in total, give or take. The rest has been 25 years of mostly tedious shite.

MIght I suggest you lower your expectations a little bit. Especially the way the game has gone in recent years, more risk averse, sanitised etc.
I guess that is the life of us fans supporting a smaller club

I just want to be entertained watching my team.

Great win yesterday but I'm sorry the performance was far from it. Two winder strikes aside, we hit the post and that was it.

13 goals in 12 games (?), lowest for every discernible attacking stat in existence, it's just not good enough.

People can support Sheehan and that's fine but don't berate people for a different (now majority) view.
I thought it was a reasonable game. We played some lovely slick stuff in the first half. We were moving the ball much quicker than we have been lately. There were some great first time passing moves to cut through them.

I know we aren’t good in the final third, but that’s because players like Ronald, Cullen, Eom, etc., aren’t particularly good. Sheehan’s doing ok to get as much out of them as he is imo.

Do those who complain the most during match day threads actually go to games? The experience of watching the team live as opposed through a screen is huge.

No wrong or right answer to this question, I'm just genuinely interested.
I suspect not, as it’d be a bit weird stuck on here or Twitter while you’re at the match. I can never get reception there anyway.

For me it’s a case of good performances breed results long term and we haven’t seen enough good performances this season. We often play well in patches just like against Norwich, we were excellent for about 20 mins of the first half but we aren’t yet able to control a game for longer periods.

I understand people who aren’t happy to be honest. We aren’t just a little bit underwhelming in attack, we are right down there with the worst in the division, we’ve created less big chances than Sheffield Wednesday over 11 games. We are very lucky that Vip has hit some form this year and can score from basically anywhere, I’m not sure where we’d be without him.

Sheehan has shown that he can get us playing but he needs to do it for longer periods in games to get the stadium fuller and the goals more regular.

Cullen and Eom were given a chance to impress. Unfortunately neither took it.

I don't think they're that bad to warrant the lack of chances we are creating week in week out. I get some games you don't create much, but we literally create 1-3 chances a game pretty much every week. That has got to be a coaching issue where Sheehan is desperate to keep defensive solidity (not happening either) at the expense of any semblance of attacking play. Again yes we scored 2 but they were 2 wonder strikes.

The stats are there in black and white, I don't understand how there are arguments against this. 0 big chances created again. Bottom of the league for every attacking metric going. That's not me being negative, that's fact.

I admire their dedication to posting while at the ground, I can't multitask

Signal has got slightly better at the ground for me, I'm on EE, it's not perfect, can generally get the scores from around the country slightly quicker than previously.

Eom's a weird player. I feel like he does enough every match for me to think 'oh he's alright actually', but he has so little end product. I'd have Inoussa in ahead of him for sure, he hasn't blown me away but still early days and looks lively most days

Exactly.

Barring a Vipotnik-style unexpected uptick in form, we know that when we see these three on the team sheet it's going to be underwhelming, more often than not.

Are Inoussa and Widell any better? We don't know, yet. But when those three keep getting selected ahead of them, it's a bit concerning.

They're all 'meh' forwards in a 'meh' team, that's the bottom line.

My lad’s on EE and it’s pretty good. I’ve got Lebara and it’s crap lol
