Shame to see it not work out.

Seems a very decent man and some comments in twitter are indicative of us having some really scummy fans.

Anyway, next.

Seems to me it could go one of two ways:

- appoint a head coach in the usual way
- bring someone in who’s a ‘big name’ with a percentage ownership of the club as part of the deal…
Plagiarism ain’t a bad thing, Lis.

This was mooted a while ago by some of us on here about Potter and is very much still de rigueur

I just read the WOL write up about Sheehan.
Rumoured to have pushed to have signed Pedersen,Stamenic and Idah.
Indicating back channelling between him and Cravatt when Williams was in charge.

My opinion, it looked like he kept in with Cravatt and his team and ultimately got the job he wanted, Swansea City head coach.

I still think that Hellberg was Montague's pick and possibly was the start of the downfall in that area ultimately leading to Montague just giving up on things.

Its going to be an interesting few weeks and one that may turn the comfortable status quo on its head.

What I do hope, whoever comes in as Manager will get his own backroom staff and it's a total clear out of the old staff.
We need a coach who has faith in his backroom staff and no distractions.

I haven’t read that any of the backroom staff have left - the club statement only says Sheehan

I would guess Margetson, O’Leary will stay on. Someone like Hellberg would bring his assistant and possibly another coach

We’re certainly play off possibles if only we had one or two better players across the line behind the striker. Chuck Sinclair in this team and we’re not having this conversation. All of our attack is down the wings and Eom and Ronald just aren’t good enough. And when it goes through the middle, Cullen isn’t good enough either. They rarely affect games.

I thought the foundation through the rest of the team was there, but what do I know. We need another RB and we’ve got loanee kids providing cover at CB and LB, so a bit light. We miss Grimes. Stamenic is ok, but not at the same level. Galbraith is class. Franco’s a good pain in the arse to have, but lacks quality in possession.

We’re average to reasonably good except for lacking power and precision immediately behind the striker (both of which are fine even if we over-paid for Idah).

That’s my take anyway. It feels like we’ve thrown in the towel here when we only needed incremental changes. Hopefully I’m wrong and we’ll get someone in who takes on a 2+ points a game run for the rest of the season.
I feel play offs is out of reach this season because as you say, we lack one of those Sinclair type players to add a decent goal threat out wide. Inoussa could potentially become very dangerous but it may take him a season to adjust.

I think we should be looking at top half this season (top 10 if it goes very well) with as much continuity as we can manage. People will say it’s just the same as last season but we’ve built almost a whole squad through the summer, there hopefully won’t be nearly as much upheaval come the next one, that’s where we build.

It can't happen, we need a complete new start and the new guy needs his own guys on board.
I could understand O'Dea staying on if Rodgers was to come in but if we go elsewhere then we need to be ruthless.

Vigoroux would probably be a fine GK for someone like Brighton or Bournemouth, or a very reliable backup keeper for one of the top clubs.

Galbraith has potential to be a PL player if he carries on at his current rate, but not sure anyone would have a punt on him right now.

And that, sorry to say, is about it really.
Yalcouye... If he works on his strength.. Stamenic from Forest. Burgess? Galbraith as you said. Cabango could be if he stepped up a little more.

Agree with this completely. It's time for a clear out.

Having Sheehan in the background for Williams created a lot of whispers about his level of influence and manoeuvring for the top job.

If we keep, for arguments sake, O'Dea around for the next coach, there will always be those whispers.

I'd probably make an exception for Marge but that would be it.

Cabango is never going to be a Premier League football player in a million years (unless we somehow manage to go up).

Rumoured price tag probably, which is somewhat harsh given he had no control over it.
He hasn't had much control over the ball either
"Celtic fans have been extremely unhappy with the club’s recruitment in the summer, with protests against the board at the way the club is being run."

"Brendan Rodgers was also critical before he sensationally quit the Hoops after a 3-1 defeat to Hearts which left the club eight points behind the Jambos."
"
Chief executive Michael Nicholson said: “This year, regretfully we did not achieve all of our objectives in the transfer window.

“We share and understand our supporters’ disappointment and frustration, and we will continue to seek to review and improve our strategy and execution as the market continues to evolve.”
I thought Rodgers laid the blame at the owners door for the poor recruitment. This guy who has just joined may have been in lockstep with Brendan hence him leaving Celtic.

Take Fulton with them as well 😂😂😂. Then it really will be old gone.

Just throw it out there. Correct me if I am wrong wasn't Sheehan assigned as set piece coach under Williams? Yet we have been worse this season and lowest in the league? Add bad substitutions, poor tactics, not knowing his team and lowest XG and much more time was ticking wasn't it. I think like many others whatever happens next I just want to be entertained. If I see a team that not only tries but is set up right and show Intent, I'll be happy. I genuinely was dropping off watching Sheehan. Last time that happened was Under Cooper.
