• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Should we be concerned?

Nah.

It seems to me that, other than just for general fitness, Sheehan has mostly been using the pre-season to have a good look at some of the younger players, your Congreves and Wilsons. Trying to see if they can offer us something in the season to come before we make further moves in the market.

I'd say he already knows what his best XI is. Results won't matter as much as their individual performances.

Well I’d like to think that as well.

But this was, after all, the summer where our spangly recruitment set up was going to get us sorted in time for players to bed in properly. And the key positions are missing. Right up the spine of the team. It’s not great is it.

I’m not sure why people are getting so irritated with it being pointed out?

It always irritates me that the beginning of the season is treated in such a blasé way. The three points in the opening game mean as much as the three points in the closing game. And yet the period until the window closes is always treated as a sort of warm up for the real thing. The sooner they close the window at the start of the season the better.
How many times does it need to be pointed out in here? Perhaps strongly worded emails would be better.

It’s boring to read it over and over and over. We all know we’re short, but there’s not a single thing any of us posters can do about it.

Sorry for boring you…

You're absolutely spot on.

For all the small talk, for all the fuss around a rapper eating Joe's ice cream and a Ballon d'Or winner taking a stake in the club, the reality is that this window is shaping to be little different to the last 4 or 5 summers - a flurry of early activity, followed by weeks of inertia once pre-season starts.

My only hope is that the usual final phase of summer - deadline day panic - isn't about to follow. That said, I'll give the new regime every opportunity to prove that this time is going to be different. Let's see what the next 6 weeks brings.

Should we be concerned with pre season results? No
Should we be concerned that we only have 1 fit centre half? Oh yes!

2014/15 season, last friendly got beat 0-3 by Vilareal, trepidation was widespread, beat man utd away the following week, then Burnley, ended up 8th(not referring to monkball here just the fact that preseason games don't give you the whole picture)
