Should we be concerned?

Should we be concerned with pre season results? No
Should we be concerned that we only have 1 fit centre half? Oh yes!

Santos is going to be out for a while. Cabango might be out longer. I would be looking in the loan market ASAP or get buying fast. We cannot go into the start of the season with Fulton at the back.

I think return training has been a bit old school with sheer concentration on getting upto optimal fitness from the start....that's what it looks like from the early training videos.

I am not sure who would be behind it, O'Dea or Sheehan would be my guess if my view on it is correct.
I am all for the sports science and building the fitness up. Sharp movements and pushing to the extreme from the very start often ends with injuries. As I said, it's just my opinion and if someone agrees or disagrees then I am open to their opinion also.

My initial thoughts when I saw your post was O Dea, he seemed a bit old school when he done his interview saying he won’t give up his principles etc maybe he’s having too much input as a second in charge? Did Sheehan pick him?

Possibly.
If that is the case then it reminds me of the Molby and Billy Ayre link. Molby wanted football coupled with Ayre's sheer determination and fitness manifold.

Who can forget that cold night at the Vetch when Ayre came out in a t shirt and shorts, players all wrapped up with 5 layers and beanie hats etc.

The more I think about it the more I'm concerned about the start of the season. Maybe my emotions will settle, but defense is on its knees, and with no prolific striker. I'll say it now. I see alot of people panicking and calling for Sheehan to go for few weeks at start of season, even if that's madness. Not in a William's way, but I feel people are going to get bit nervous and worried. I think we will pick up but not until late September onwards.

I agree with you, I am concerned, the euphoria of snoop dog coming on board has long gone, For me I would like to get a decent striker in.

I freely admit it the positive vibes around the club has made me think unrealisticly about what we can achieve. Now I don't think it's all doom and gloom. But the injuries and lack of a striker, add into that with youth not stepping up. I see more pain coming. Would I panic now if I was the Club. Proberly yes. The starting 11 I really like if all fit. But we really should now be pushing to get even loans in now ASAP.

It's gonna happen. Clearly Sheehan doesn't have any confidence in others. I really hope I'm not being dramatic, but unless we get new ones in and fast then it's gonna be painful for us.
