So, did we miss Grimes then?...

The issue isn't Grimes one way or the other. He's not the problem nor the solution.

We have a very poor manager, hat combines idiocy with intrangidence. He thinks he is some sort of special genius.

All we can hope is that the players do make it work somehow, or that he changes, or that he leaves. None are looking that likely, so I fear more and increasing frustration. I felt really alienated and annoyed watching that style yesterday, even when we scored and scrambled the draw. A few total humiliations by obviously terrible and worse than us teams may be what he needs, although it's the last thing we need.

Anyone thinking that Latibeaudiere and Grimes are the players to fully build a team around is not fit for the job. The Oko Flex and Obafemi decisions yesterday should be enough to sack him without compensation for gross incompetence. Wigan could have won that 5-0 if they'd played what was in front of them.

It also can't be ignored his glaringly obvious criticisms of Obafemi and Oko-Flex on the radio. Players who are mavericks do not fit into his plan. Andy Robinson would never get into this team nor Montero. Or Bodde for that matter. Or Dobbie.

It's all about robots who stick to a plan.

No we didn't miss Grimes yesterday is the correct answer.

As plenty of others have alluded to, Martins team selection and subsequent tactics cost us that game. Grimes fan boys won't be happy with the consensus though.

Take Prosser with you to explain the basics to them before you start and for some moral support

That’s your opinion.

Plenty of others say we did miss him.

Yes, it is my opinion.

Anyway, seeing as you're sniffing about, have you managed to think of the reason why you wouldn't want to see alcohol classified as an illegal substance yet? It's been a while...

“Sniffing about”

What’s the matter, can’t accept that somebody doesn’t want illegal drugs legalised?

Apologies if that offended you in anyway, it wasn't the intention.

Anyway, of course i can accept that, I'm just trying to see your reasons for thinking that way. It's only chat on a message board mun.

Well we didn’t miss Grimes as much as I thought we would. However not having an easy pass for Cabango and Wood highlighted how uncomfortable both of them are playing Martinball. Darling has had his lapses but is a far better ball player than both but must have done something to annoy RM.

Not sure how having Grimes on the field would have prevented either of the goals we conceded. Fulton had a decent game, Cundle wasn’t quite at the races yesterday, a bit overrated by some. Not sure why Cooper and Oko-Flex switched sides, it didn’t work whatever the reason was

Our general play was way too slow in the first half a disturbing pattern (with and without Grimes) where once again we conceded first. Taking Oko-Flex off at half time can only be a blow to his confidence though I agree that his work rate off the ball wasn’t good enough as alluded to by RM.

The three substitutions in the second half meant that we lost 15 minutes trying to get shape as players had to change positions and get up to speed. As limited as Wigan might be they are not the worse team that we have failed to beat this season

Intrangidence, that is getting used in work this week.

That's why this manager has got to go

Martin is always harping on about defensive mistakes. Does he realise if they were allowed to follow their defensive instincts and clear the ball up field we wouldn't be caught in possession with the goal within range nearly as much? Instead he has his defenders fiddling about around their own penalty area to build up passing and possession statistics, which I swear he thinks are more important than goals for and goals against.
