• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

This time, feeling a bit more frustrated 🙂:
  1. The RB issue has to be solved promptly. Playing EG there is clearly limiting us, both in midfield and going forward.
  2. On EG specifically: he looks tired and overplayed. A rest for a game or two could really help him.
  3. Matos needs to ban EOM from shooting for the next few games. Yesterday alone, at least twice there were teammates in far better scoring positions, yet he chose to shoot. A goal every 15 games just isn’t worth it.
  4. And someone, please, give Ronald some individual shooting training.
  5. With Idah missing, I really dont understand why Cullen is ahead of BW as a replacement for VIP. Maybe as a No. 10, but never as a nine.
  6. We’re 27 games in and I find myself scratching my head about ZI and why we spent so much money on him. He’s lightweight and his defensive awareness is poor, to say the least. So far, for me, a disappointment.
  7. We can probably get through to the end of the season with our current CBs, but they’re slow and it causes us problems almost every game. If we want to aim higher next season, replacements need to be considered.

On the positive side:

1. Widdel, Franco, and Fulton – all three seem to have found their mojo again under VM.
2. I really hope Tom Gorringe is already planning to sit down with VIP’s agent and offer him an improved contract, sooner rather than later.

You're right about the RB situation. Galbraith is wasted there and he wanders into midfield too much and gets caught out of position. When the ball was played out wide for their goal he was scurrying back and across to where he should have been and as a result didn't come close to cutting out the cross. Key would have been crucified for that.
Why does Ronald start every game? Why did he try to bust the net when he hit the bar? A bit of composure and he scores easily.
Our press disappeared after 50 minutes and allowed Birmingham to dictate the ball and bring it forward in comfort. Matos needs to solve that problem.
Entertaining game though and big improvement in most of the players since the managerial change.

100% agree

And have another 100%

Good post 🫡

Regards the RB situation, Matos said that Ward was brought in to be back up to Key BUT yet neither started at RB. Tells you everything really.

Who is ZI...apologies for my ignorance 🤔

One other thought after yesterday's game. Why the f**k are we still announcing attendances over the tannoy. I know it was on Sky TV but still a poor crowd despite a full away end. Just invites derision from them...plus also those watching on TV across the country. " Thank you Jack Army for your MAGNIFICENT support". FFS

Surely it’s only children and the insecure that care about attendances?

Inoussa looks no better -in fact looks worse so far - than the munter we sent out on loan. When Eom went off, any threat from that side completely disappeared.

I thought Inoussa looked a promising buy in the first 5/10 games of the season. He was having an impact from the bench and looked sharp and skillful.

Hes not really kicked on at all

He’s probably the only player I think has gone backwards under Matos
