He was dreadful, but tbh it is now getting to the point where it's just easier to remark on when we get a good ref because I can't think of one who has been any good this season, from what I've seen at home anyway. The standard is absolutely dire. He was no different to the rest in that sense, kindest thing I can say about him

Apparently Cullen's cameo was the worst cameo of any player in history for any team even though he only got two chances and was millimetres away from getting one of them in the back of the net. Am I missing something? What do people reckon of this view posted on Twitter that received a lot of support?

That's what I thought. Didn't pull up any trees, I would be prepared to concede, but he came mightily close with that header. He got decent power on it, beat the keeper and was only millimetres off with his aim. If you want a striker that scores every single effort, you're simply not going to get them, they don't exist.

If I remember correctly that header was created out of nothing by him.

Expectations and entitlement from certain sections of our supporters aren't realistic. There's a reason players like Cullen play a bit part roles for teams like ourselves.

Ultimately, there is not enough goals in us outside Vip. As has been said, if we sell him we are fkd. We have to have more goal options to get these games over the line. We're a couple of players away.

I have seen this curve before. Players buy in, improvement in form, but despite controlling the best part of games we don't win. Players slowly become disillusioned, form ebbs away. Manager is blamed. Rinse and repeat.

We need that bit more quality.

I think this is Matos next challenge - to design a midfield that can be more cohesive and create a lot more chances. The press improvement has brought us away from the relegation places but to really thrive in this division we need to move the ball far quicker and more inventively from back to front to really make the most of our front players. I think vip will definitely hit 20 goals but with faster ball could smash 30 goals this season.

It’s incredible what perception can do. When Matos was appointed we were 4 points away from the bottom three. Now we are 6 points away.

I agree that we SEEM in less trouble, but we are not ‘away’ from relegation quite yet.

We do have more teams below us which is always a good thing and I genuinely don’t think we’ll go down btw, but we need to stop dropping points in games we are dominating in order to actually get safe.

I agree that we SEEM in less trouble, but we are not ‘away’ from relegation quite yet.

We do have more teams below us which is always a good thing and I genuinely don’t think we’ll go down btw, but we need to stop dropping points in games we are dominating in order to actually get safe.

We were in free fall before Matos came on board now we look like a team who can go to toe with most teams in this league.

I'm a lot more confident and positive about the future of the club while he's in our dugout.

So am I. I was just pointing out the we haven’t pulled away in quite the way many seem to think.

I’ve always thought Norwich will put together a run to get them out of trouble and that appears to have started.
Thankfully there are teams going in the opposite direction.

But for all it appears to have been loads better we really need to win a couple in the next few weeks to make things more relaxed. Starting tonight hopefully.

Yes, we have been better but we can't just say that we won't get relegated and be certain on it.

All of this is true...but the biggest thing for me is that I'm actually enjoying the football and even look forward to games now. Been years since I felt that.

Yes, we will never be 'too good to go down' when only two or three wins ahead in this mad league. If we can't put teams away, it makes no odds if we are 'better' than them. We need some points.

I'm pretty confident Oxford (but you never know, a few that didn't go down looked toast until the last few games last season) will join SW, so we only need to more than match one other, and we might as well start by sticking a spoke in Blackburn's dinghy.
