Summer Transfer Window

This was my point Sheehan will end up being sacked as a result of people unrealistic expectations of where we are at I’ve seen people say Sheehans got no excuse not to deliver this season it baffles me especially given the fact players like Congreve ,coterill and Parker will be mainstays in our squad when it’s obvious they are not quite ready for the level and would be better off on loan in the division below
He’ll get sacked if we are on a bad losing run (like at every other club). He set his benchmark high with a superb finish to last season, witching striking distance to the playoffs after being under threat of relegation. Now he has some very good players so there is some pressure on him to hit a top 6 finish but that in our circumstances is not an unreasonable target.

As an aside on Kone - worth taking a second to read the bloke's mad, mad story - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Kone

Came to the UK to play in the Homeless World Cup in 2019, went on trial at a Premier League club (and Colchester), but was unable to play professional football due to visa issues. Signed for a team in the ninth tier of football, scored an absolute ton of goals, and was only signed by Wycombe the season before last.
I'll say it now before anyone else does 😂😂.. We sign him.. He is the next superstar.. He is featured in all of the news... Include Football Focus 😂😂😂 in a few years time - his story will be how he went from nothing to something and signing with Liverpool after having a brilliant 2 seasons with Swansea.. You heard it here first 😉😉🤣

Plus, has anyone actually looked at that last set of accounts, I wonder? From my quick glance, without big player sales income, we would be slaloming into some deep shit. We need Yates and Vipotnik out the door, and we surely can’t afford first team quality ‘back up’. Have I misread them?
where was the money coming from to sign O'Brien or Ollie or was that just bullshit.

Well if Yates wants to play week in week out then being part of any deal might be advisable, there has seemingly been little to no interest from Championship clubs for Yates.

I disagree. The reason many gave up coming to games was the awful shite football from both Martin and Williams

And to a lesser extent Cooper.

We've been tedious to watch for most of the time since we got relegated. Firstly by the Ponty Goblin's overly defensive style, and then as a result of Russy and Russy MkII's "death by possession" approach. It's not been a fun watch, and I'm not surprised that the biggest decline in support can be seen in the family stand.

People won't want to pay for their kids to get into a football match and have them fidget for 90 minutes because they're so bored.

Good point that adults like myself and my mates in the East stand often self medicated to numb the boredom pain over the years which kids or adults with kids can't really do.

Fingers (and everything else) crossed, that the Richard Kone deal gets over the line today. 👃✍️

I disagree. The reason many gave up coming to games was the awful shite football from both Martin and Williams and getting the piss taken out of us at home by inferior teams. Now there’s definitely a big change and we have had good football from Sheehan and now he’s being rewarded with some good players.
Fans stopped going because of the Manager/s, sorry but that's not a real fan and an excuse.....sounds more like a petulant child not getting what they want than a real fan.
I'm sorry but it's nonsense, I understand fans not being happy with a manager and/or how the team is performing etc but walking away from your club because of that is just ridiculous. I understand the expense side also before that is brought out.

If it's your team, you support them through the bad aswell as the good times.

Well that makes me a not real fan then. I was far more reluctant to go to games due to the absolute drivel that both Martin and Williams sides put out. Going to games was a chore as I was largely bored shitless watching us pass it about the back with no purpose just to make the stats look good for the manager.

Your argument about "support them through the bad" doesnt stack up when I have seen the very worst of times, this was a decision driven by nothing other than a total lack of entertainment meaning I could easily find better things to do with my time.

If that makes me not a real fan, then a real fan I'm not.

Football at it's core is ultimately entertainment, if you aren't serving the goods then expect to fail.

Absolutely. Even the darkest days in the 80s and 90s were more enjoyable. After watching us get humiliated at Stoke I would not watch again until Martin went. Not irrational. Just the view of a 50 something with a full dance card of work and home commitments. If I want pain I could hammer a nail into my hand for a fraction of the cost and time. The Swans have always been a release in times of stress, grief and difficulty. Not part of the problem.

Boro and Norwich making late interest for Kone. If we are signing him let's hope he doesn't get his head turned by this.
