Summer Transfer Window

Do we know for certain that we aren't looking at the foreign market, though? I've been quite impressed by how the club have managed to keep some key transfer negotiations quiet until the deal is done. I'd be surprised if they aren't looking for our next striker internationally. Let's hope so, anyway.
They probably are, making most of the foreign market is what I should have put.
I believe they should be as it offers more value as it does in other areas.

We seem to be linked to a lot of young loans at the moment, hopefully it's just paper talk and we are looking at a bit more experience especially in DM.

I think if we had all our players fit, people would feel a lot better about starting the season. As it is we are a little short but with Cabango, Santos and Vipotnik fit we’d be able to field a decently competitive team. Was hoping a striker would be in this week but not looking likely now.
Concern for me, we are picking these up in general warm up pre season training.
It's been a good eye opener to what we could be left with if it happens during the season......good it's happened now if things are then acted upon.

BBC article says striker is unlikely before Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Even if Vip is injured, we're going into that game with Cullen up top.
Someone said earlier Wycombe have form for messing teams around with transfers - even us with Joe Low, so why leave ourselves deliberately light up top?

That's a bizarre non-story - no actual new news, just a rehash of what we already knew (we are not going to be screwed around by Kone and we haven't made a move for McBurnie). I had to re-read it three times as I couldn't believe they'd run a story like that without having a source to back up the 'patience' comment. Pure clickbait, changes nothing.

Patience won't count for much if we get battered at Boro on Saturday and Sheffield United come down here and do the same the following week. It's a 46 game season, not 43
If you think like that all the time then our season's over if we lose the first 2 games. The window is open later than that. I think the club have done all they can with the Kone saga, we gave it our best shot and that might have been enough if Leicester hadn't stepped in late. Personally I'd be glad if we just wash our hands of Wycombe, after Low then this, I think they're walking a tightrope and could lose big time. I bet Leicester are only 'considering' making an offer.

I've seen nothing on the Leicester forum mentioning Kone. Maybe Wycombe are leveraging them to get us to part with another £500K... maybe it's call their bluff time..

Our start is statically the hardest in the opening 10 games in the entire division.

The Championship this season will be super difficult to call, there are no sides in the division that stand head and shoulders above everyone else like Burnley and Leeds last season, even the relegated sides are in various states of chaos.

The closest to that category would be Sheffield United and perhaps Leicester, but the former have had to let go of a number of their high earners after failing to go up last season and the latter are facing potentially TWO points deductions for consistently breaking EFL PSR rules.
How on earth can our start be statistically the hardest in the entire division.

Nobody has kicked a ball yet, many teams have new managers (our 1st opposition being one), all teams have lost / replaced players and will need to bed players (just like Swansea).

I bet our 1st 10 opponents will not form the toughest start statistically once those 10 games are done and dusted.

I agree, he'd be a risk for us, so shouldn't fit the bill for Leicester, unless they're looking at him purely as cover.

Because Opta stats have compiled a list of the opening ten games and used their compiled data to give every team a power rating that indicates how strong they are as a club based on their squads and recent performances and transfer dealings.

Based on those power ratings they took the average score across the opening ten games, and ours was indeed the highest.

If it was some hack like the72 or footballleagueworld or Tom Coleman I would discount it. But Opta is the golden standard for stats

EDIT:
Sorry its the first nine games which I think takes us up to the first international window.

Thank feck statistics, a lot of the time, are a poor signpost.

looking at our Bench, when all are fit we know for definite that we’ll have on there Vipotnik (once we get a new 9) Eom (if we assume Inoussa and Ronald start), Santos and Casey. While not great, it isn’t terrible, I think Vip and Eom are decent to have off the bench and hopefully both CBs can be decent cover. Who are we realistically expecting to have off the bench?

Personally I would have Eom on the left and Inoussa on the right. Ronald has regressed massively imo.

Looking at Eom’s form at the end of last season I would want him to start also but I based it off of what I thought was most likely. Apparently Inoussa can play on the right so we could well see him move there and Eom starting on the left.

I’m expecting a big season from Eom.
The boy looks class at times, if he can get a good run of games going, he could be crucial for us.

My vision of the business end of our lineup looks something like this:

------------------ Galbraith ---------------------
-------------------- Franco ----------------------
Ronald ----------- Widell -------------- Inoussa
------------------ Striker X ----------------------

Eom can play anywhere along the line on both wings or in the 10 position
Wales can play on the wing or as a striker

While I agree that not everything should be decided by stats, in this case I agree that on paper we have one of the hardest starts in the division. I also agree with the Opta data that shows that Leicester have the easiest

Besides, we all know 90% of stats are made up on the spot :D
