Not exactly a glowing tribute. Had an indifferent season, presumably hindered by injury. Had his best season in 2023/24.

Has a Grimes-lite profile. Perhaps a bit better defensively, but doesn't score, assist or create many chances. His profile is very much that of someone who sits in front of the back four and sprays accurate long balls, and is decent at breaking up attacks, with lots of interceptions and recoveries. Perhaps he compensates for his average stats with the tempo of his play, but I don't have any info on that.

Looking at the comments of that post you have a bit of a divide but quite a few saying he is one of their best players and their best technically. Worth noting that a few of their fans have called their side an average league one team, maybe we could unlock him if we got some quality around him.

Sometimes these things come down to sour grapes too, nobody likes to sell their key players

Not in my book. If he's a squad signing, and a replacement for Fulton, then this looks a good signing. If he's intended as a starter I'm not so sure, but I do have a bit of faith in our recruitment team. It would be good to have more info on him.

Lets also not forget that like most of his stats Grimes's assists and goals scored statistics were both padded by the fact that he was the club penalty taker and corner/set piece taker for the past five years

Eom and Tymon have taken over the set piece duties now but I am not sure if either are any good at direct free kicks

We need both. With Allen and Grimes gone and Fulton possibly going we would only have Erhahon as an out and out 6. Franco is used more as an 8. So we will need another 6. If he costs more then presumably Erhahon will be a bench option. Chances are we get a loanee as cover to Erhahon.

Fair, but not many Championship sides would pay severn figures for a squad player, if that's the case, Erhahon will be brought in to start imho.
