Summer Transfer Window

Bored to death with it now is it likely to be July 1st when he departs for P&S
Again, no impact for FFP.

Darling is fully amortised in the accounts bar one month. He leaves for £nil.

If he leaves now the difference in his net book value (unamortised amount) and £nil is written off to the profit and loss account as a loss on disposal. If he leaves on July 1st the loss on disposal is £nil but the extra one month’s amortisation gets charged to the profit and loss account. Either way, it’s the same figure.

People are getting awfully hung up on this…

From the horses mouth a couple of weeks ago, Harry Darling said that his agent knows more than he does on who he will be playing for in the coming season.
Now that Norwich are in the race it will be interesting to see if he goes there or for more money.

The quality of his goals the season before last was right up there. He creates a lot of goals too. Doesn't fit the profile of up-and-coming players with sell on value, and we're likely to be out competed, but this would be a great signing.

This would qualify as a Wow signing in my book.
Shankland?

That’s the sort of thing players say when they don’t want you to think badly of them.

I think you may have misunderstood my point when I mentioned p and s I meant when is he likely to sign for his new club it's not going to be us.

He'll go when his contract expires - why would his new club who he'd have a pre-contract agreement with (so he wont be going anywhere else) agree to take on his wages any sooner when we're in pre-season? Don't think there's any P&S thought involved in this at all.

They wouldn't.
He would just sign a contract with them starting from July 1st.
If he signed a new contract with us, it would take effect from July 1st and that includes signing on payments etc.

Where have you seen that the swans have known about it? Manning only joined Norwich today?
The post only says they’ve known about his departure for a while actually so wasn’t Norwich specifically, poor wording from me. All this stuff about him still deciding with our offer on the table probably hasn’t been true if Vitals post can be trusted (which it usually can)

Yeah. That’s the same for us as well.

Nothing to do with P&S and all to do with not paying for any longer than you need to when the club is on holibobs.
