Summer Transfer Window

I think it's somewhat telling Blues or Wrexham haven't gone near him- both in the market for a top striker and could easily afford. They would of seen a lot of him last season...
Don't tell me it's come to us now having to use Wrexham and Birmingham as our transfer guide to getting players 😂😂 Granted they would of seen him in the league but this is not a bar our club will or ever will be using.

Cash is king unfortunately but will he be guaranteed game time at Leicester than with us !?
He might like the idea of the bright lights of Premier league. Predicted it already. This time next year he is on Football Focus 😂😂. From nothing to something my life with Leicester. 🤣

Birmingham and Wrexham have a lot of spare cash and are targetting the finished article, we're not in that place and look more for younger players with promise and possible future windfall.

Compare apples with apples not oranges.

What we’ve seriously lacked in recent seasons is assets that we sell on to fund the team. We can go for those finished article type players once we get some money in from sales in the future. Look at the money Coventry made from Hamer and Gyokeres, we need to be doing these types of deals

We're definitely in a different position to both clubs PSR being a major factor, I think people are forgetting Kone isn't a diamond in the rough - he was League 1 player of the season and the price tag reflects that. I think it's a strange transfer if we splash £5m on him with a year left on his contract it's not a very swans move at all! Not opposed to the move but I'd like to think we've done our due diligence with options out there because him and McBurnie being linked doesn't scream unique/ alternative scouting methods to me

We've taken punts on Ronald, Franco Widdell Inoussa and Eom, hoping to sell on for a big number
On the basis of what we've seen so far ( Ron Franco and Eom ) that tactic has failed, though Franco might yet prove me wrong, but there's too much gone on "promising but unproven"
We are now looking flaky and in need of more experience

There's 'realism' and then there's just open cynicsm. If Players' Player of the Season and Fans Player of the Season Goncalo Franco is a 'failed signing', I have no idea what you expect to come through the door

All on low wages and combined around £5m fees - I'd say Franco min £5m fee so there's your money back on 1/3 being a success (I'd expect money back min on others). Compare that to a somewhat 'proven' Jerry Yates in League 1 on big wages who you end up losing money on, I know what method I'd prefer

I'd say Eom has shown flashes that he could become worth quite a lot more than we paid for him too. Definitely if he continues in the same vein that he ended last season in.

Well there has been a lot of interest in Franco already, We only need to sell one of them for a big fee for it to work out. Same goes for our new signings, not all of them will make it big but the hope is one or two of them will. And those kinds of transfers keep the club running.

Given the major surgery required on the squad & our need to operate within PSR limits, we were never going to fix all the issues with the squad in one window.
If we're in a competitive situation come December & looking like we can have a crack for the playoff's in the 2nd half of the season, then we may well look to add that experience in the January window, albeit on loan as you never get value for money in the January window.
