Fulton epitomises average, I certainly don’t hate him but he’s never been more than average at best.

I think that's fair. Fulton is one of those players who in a good team surrounded by better players playing good football is fine to have there to plug gaps, cover injuries, etc. In a team not playing well or with lesser players, he stands out more as being very middle of the road. Not sure why that gets him so much hate from some.

Someone (Ringwood I think) mentioned Oli Cooper. I know plenty of people would be happy for us to move Oli on, but he gets a fraction of the stick Jay gets. Yet to me, he's basically Fulton 2.0.

Also, perhaps we should stop talking about people who post elsewhere, we know how that tends to go and Daps has the champagne ready for when we hit page 300...

Back to serious matters, that's a good question.

There were hints in the fans forum about future commercial deals. Maybe we're expecting income to be significantly higher to offset it?
Yes potentially, they need to be sorted soon but what form would they come in? The stadium naming as far as im aware is locked in, as are the shirt sponsors. There's the documentary talk but filming hasn't started as im aware.

I think that Snoop is going to be a huge part of marketing for us not only just in the US but worldwide. Shirts being worn from Compton to Haarlem (also key rings , Swansea city mugs and Cyril/Cybil action figurines………..)

Joking aside it may be stuff like that which makes a difference. Shirt and stadium sponsorship might be locked in, at least in the short term, but there's plenty of cash to be made from other advertising and merchandising opportunities.

I am in agreement about Ollie. As an attacking midfielder when was the last time he scored a goal or got an assist?

Actually while writing this post I went to take a look, August last year was his last assist and his last goal was September last year. Admittedly his play time was sporadic at best (1090 minutes across 28 appearances in the league last year), in the previous year he racked up 1 goal and 2 assists in 34 appearances totaling 1200 minutes.

Basically over 2300 minutes of football he has picked up 2 goals and 3 assists (a goal involvement every 5.1 full games)

Are footballers who remain at clubs for around 4, 5, 6 or even more seasons any different to long standing critics on forums. One can look back at Kyle Naughton's career with the Swans and as much praise he received when he retired from the game in May one can look back to earlier in his career when he was continually panned by those eager to post their opinions.
The same can be said for the likes of Michael Howard, Jonathan Coates or any player who stays at the same club for a period of time who impresses on the midweek training ground, week in, week out, only to be criticised repeatedly during 90 minutes on matchdays by website forum experts.
It can be said that fans who pay their hard earned cash are entitled to their opinions while on the other hand, footballers can turn round and say they have impressed their bosses and merited the contracts they have received.
Its all about opinion folks.

Wasn’t Darren Prateley an absolute hate figure for most of his time with us or am I misremembering? Now no one has a bad thing to say about him.

Sponsorship deals maybe locked in but the remaining time on the contracts can be bought out and replaced by better deals.

Very hard to actually gauge the quality of Stamenic. Plays internationally, but not for a particularly high standard of nation. Seemed to be a real prospect in Serbia, but that was nearly three years ago, and has barely played since.
Indeed. Hopefully it's a cheap deal. Forest paid £4.7m for him and he didn't impress on loan in Greece, so his value must have dropped considerably

No, I only remember him getting stick very early on.
Cheers Manselton Jack. As I recall supporters were on his back for always passing sideways and backwards and never going forwards. Fairly certain that was going on until he scored twice in the Derby in 2009 (so three years in to his five-year stint with us)?

I vividly remember Jason price getting some stick for being a shite house from the North Bank back around the 1996/1997 season

Oli Cooper is an easy player to like, and there's still a part of me that quite likes having him as an option to bring on late in games when we need someone to chase and harry opposing defences to keep them honest.

For an attacking midfielder though as you noted his numbers simply aren't good enough. He just doesn't have the level of technical/creative ability to open those same defences up.

I can't recall Pratley passing sideways and backwards, especially in the Roberto Martinez mould. He was signed by Kenny Jackett in May 2006 as a box to box midfielder and when Roberto took over in late February 2007 he was already out of action through a dislocated shoulder suffered against Scunthorpe United and never played under Roberto until the following season.
