Swansea City: Is time up for Luke Williams after dismal derby day display heightens pressure?

What credentials does he have to coach anyone?

Not saying Williams is the answer but Joe Allen certainly isn't
I'm looking at alternatives for the rest of the season. Allen has our interests at heart, used to a playing football ethos, could use youth because of his background. Credentials is a loose word. What Credentials did Toshack have ? What Credentials does Sheehan have ? Having a badge does not make you a good or better coach.
As I said, I'm looking at alternatives as I feel Williams has to go and I don't believe we would get a tidy permanent replacement at this time of the season with so much of the transfer window gone. I'm all ears for any other suggestions.

I'd look at an interim and spend quality time looking for someone for next season. Got nothing to lose by giving it to Joe Allen till May. Least his heart will be in it. I just don't think we can carry on with his ineptitude. He could completely destroy any confidence our good players have.
Joe Allen has no credentials to be a manager, not even a coaching badge I dont believe

Neither did Toshack.
And a coaching badge does not make you a coach. Our recent managers prove that. Everyone is happy to slam suggestions for the short term replacement of Williams but can offer no positives themselves.

Agree on Toshack but that was 1978, the game in 2025 is different and I don’t actually believe you are allowed to manage without them

Im not slamming anything here just stating that it can’t be done

If we end up going from within if Williams goes then it would be Sheehan

Fair enough
Ridiculous how Shankley, Revie, Stein etc etc had no badges but now you have to have one.
I'm not against Sheehan in the short term. I just wonder, and fear, how much of Luke has rubbed off on him

Don't like Sheehan myself, would rather look elsewhere.

I'm only throwing this name out there as he's one of the young managers causing a 'buzz', but Mat Sadler at Walsall has been going gangbusters there in League 2. I know absolutely nothing about him outside of what I've typed out here, but IF we did look to make a change, I expect his name will be mentioned.

Andrew agree but who out there would come and in reallity who would want to within our budget ?

I don't think there is anyone tbh mate. It would most likely be another imperfect up and coming "process" manager, that's all we can afford in reality.

We have the winning team in situ - on and off the pitch.

Simply get rid of Williams, revert to the proven (QPR) winning blueprint, and play that entertaining, effective, efficient footy which galvanized the troops, got bums off seats and had the .Com rocking.

The quorum management team delivered - WITHOUT Williams.

It really is that simple.

We have all the resources to kick on - players, finances, loyal fans, ambitious wealthy owners - just get rid of the bad apple that is Williams, 'prompto'.

Some of us will keep saying the same thing until the challenged of thinking latch on........

Joe Allen?

Dear god
I formed the impression, I put it no stronger than that, that the 20 game winless run under Martin was brought to an end because the players started listening to Allen and stopped listening to Martin, who had become listless and uninvolved watching his attitude on the touchline. There then followed a successful period until Martin took charge again.

If that is right (a big 'if') then I'm all for trying Allen. For one thing he has the career and the experience with the club to suppress the inevitable locker room sulks "It's not how Russell does it" if he chooses to stop the defensive midfield hanging onto the ball and doing nothing with it.

It was Grimesy at the vanguard. With Joey and a couple others

A proper captain, in so many ways - off and on the pitch.

There's no wonder Martin labelled Matty as 'the very bravest I've ever worked with'.

Allen is most certainly in the Matty camp.........the future's already bright, as per the winning (QPR) blueprint

Won’t be long till we have calls for Leon and Curt again.

You do realise that Lord Grimes only gave the team talk ? The team and set up was still down to Williams. QPR were fucking useless and allowed us to play better than our usual efforts.

This talk of Allen being manager is utterly ridiculous and nothing more than romantic talk from the same folk that thought it was a great idea that he came back to play of us.

He's an integral part of the quorum.

He and Matty know the winning Swanseway, it's inculcated in them, and only them.

We lose Matty and Joey - we lose our last remaining glue to our playing heritage and USP.
