Is Luke Williams time up at Swansea City - will Baggies links be the end?

Funny thing is, with him doing the same in his last job when linked to us it's groundhog day. With his Appointment 1 year this Sunday. Imagine if you was doing this in a 9 to 5 job. Granted this is not the same but still. It's one thing going on Indeed and doing a secret job search, it's another thing to announce to your boss you are open for a new job. Clueless Williams.

I suppose it's one thing fluttering your eyelids at a Championship club when a) they're two leagues above you and b) when you've got your current club promoted back into the Football League.

It's quite another to do it after an, at best, average year, to a side a few places above us.

Dillusinal Williams 101. Maybe that's what you need be a football manager. But I aren't upping sticks and moving any family and buying a new car and house, before I even get or had an interview never lone a job offer. If he gets it I give him 6 months. Clearly he was never told not to play with guns and not shoot yourself in the foot.

He gets paid an awful lot of money and has been doing this job at various levels for a long time. The way he deals with the media should be a lot better than this.
I wonder if the soft soap club interviews make it hard for him when the real press start asking questions. Swans in house interviews tend to ask and answer the question for him. The real press don’t let things go and expect you the manager to answer

The only thing that has crossed my mind is that he has been told he is a cert for the job if he wants it. Which I can't see myself but you never know.

If not, it's the normal person equivalent of upsetting your boss, colleagues and customers after getting a call from a recruitment agent asking if you'd be interested in applying for a role.

I think it’s reasonable to say that all parties will want this resolved one way or another before we play each other Saturday (or before Williams has another chance to open his mouth again..), so this won’t drag on much longer.

Probably 24hrs max before we know if he’s going or not. If not, he’s got some bridges to fix here.

I'd like to think not. He should be used to being front of the media.

Having the Welsh press asking the questions maybe have something to do with it. They tend not to really care about what happens in Swansea.

I have no doubt that if/when he comes to leave he will go on to be a success like the previous few managers have been, albeit to a limited degree. The club has constantly held the team back with off the pitch decisions and while the new régime is in place now, it may be some time before the mentality shifts.

He either has the job or so arragant that he thinks he has it without an interview. Either way, someone has to tell me how he will come back from this? We all have people in work places who will say they don't like their job. But not everyone is the boss or coaching a championship team, irrelevant of your opinions of the players. Spot on with your comments.

I don't see him succeeding, well getting as far as our previous mangers. As you said maybe to a limited degree. I am mixed on Williams, there are things that have improved or well, shown better signs than under Russ. For instance it's not do or die, not every pass from the back has to be a pass. Sometimes it can be a long pass. Russ made this mistake at Southampton with constant short passes and playing from back. Granted we have made a few mistakes lately but you get what I mean. For me all of our emotions are high and maybe we will all calm down in a week if he is still here. But performances and inconsistent matches alongside his comments has done it for me.

If he stays and if we then go on a great run, including winning at our dear neighbours in a few weeks time, then all will be forgotten.

Obviously we all see the glaring problem, though

Yeah, he'll be fine at either club as long as he is winning. What this sort of thing does is kill you very quickly if you are not. He'll get no leeway here or there now for a 'judge me in a year' type of approach.

Honestly, he must be as thick as custard. Burning bridges with an employer you are leaving is really stupid, and puts kindling under the foundations with the new one too. Difficult to talk about 'long term projects at WBA' now.

Fixing bridges will be extremely hard.

Beating Cardiff will be a start, but the gloss might soon wear off if we see more examples like Saturday.

I see no way back to a positive conclusion which involves both SCFC and Luke Williams.

Basically he is gonna have to come out and be open and honest and apologise. I mean it might not fix anything but it might help some fan base. For me, this goes deeper than winning. Swansea Independent really pointed out whatever happens he has lost even more faith from the board and that's from an insider. Time is ticking.
