A seven figure sum over 10 years. Let's hope there is a clause in the contract that reviews it IF we get back into the Prem.

We'll still be referring to it as "The Liberty".
The "Swansea.com": give me a break!

I've read the article on the O.S. about betting firms etc and deciding to go local but it makes the deal sound cheap and nasty

I'll be fùcked if I refer to the stadium as the Swansea. com, should have told Morgan where to stick his seven figures 🖕

Liberty properties have been known to take...er...liberties. They went a season or two without paying anything. Says more about the club commercial "department" at that time than about them though I suppose.

I don’t get the betting thing.
We’ve got Sky Bet on our sleeves and 3 or 4 sponsorship ads at the stadium.
At least we did last season.

Be interesting if the Trust end up succeeding in court against the main party behind the new stadium sponsor 😅

Putting a commercial hat on would the club have made more money by getting external naming sponsor and allowing local names to put money in in other ways?

Now you wouldn't think he'd be doing this for any ulterior motive do you? ;)

I assume the rights naming went through a thoroughly transparent and fair tender system?

From what I’ve read on social media, I’m amazed at how many people didn’t know that Liberty was a sponsor and not just some random name...

I was just about to say the same thing..

It's been a stonking deal for them, but almost too good when 90% don't associate the name with a local construction company

On a side note I seem to remember many people saying that ‘The Liberty stadium’ sounded really naff when we first moved there.

Not that I’m defending Swansea.com. That sounds really crap. It’s a shame that a deal couldn’t have been done with Liberty to keep their name on the stadium and call it ‘The Swansea.com Liberty stadium’ or something like that.

Not a fan of stadium names being totally sold to companies in general - there should be a name for a stadium with the sponsor’s name attached to it.
