Benda 100% of the time.

FACT.

Trouble is Martin can’t bring him back now without admitting he dropped him rather than ‘rotated’ him. Poor shout that was from the manager. Put it right and settle on a first choice 11.

Well we haven't lost today so maybe he gets another shot🤣😂

He’s not terrible by any stretch but he’s certainly no better than Benda. It was his first test today since Hull and Millwall offered the grand total of one shot between them, and he didn’t exactly come out of it looking particularly good.

It has to be Benda being as Hamer is not an upgrade.

Hamer today was such a liability that Luton realised they could press us and get change out of it almost every single time. That time in the 2nd half where he dribbled past the striker almost gave me an aneurism.

I would prefer to stick with Benda and give him the experience to grow properly into the keeper he clearly has the potential to be once he takes his punches and learns from them.

Not a lot to choose between the two keepers IMO, but Benda will improve with games. Hamer has reached, and gone past his peak I'm afraid.

In truth, neither are good enough to be playing at this level on the evidence I've seen so far this season.

Can’t agree. Benda looks a different beast to me, capable of being a top, top keeper.

Needs better feet....which is ironic as a goalkeeper should really be all about hands

TBF Hamer didn't have much of a chance with any of their goals.
Both decent enough at this level and overall both an upgrade on Woodman.
Freddy dropped by Newcastle and not on the bench ... should be getting experience at lower levels,

I’m no expert but I don’t see the problem with his keeping, I’ve been impressed by his instinct, distribution and composure. The problem has been his decision making with the ball at his feet but even that hasn’t been too bad when you consider the decision making if the other ten out there.

The third goal he was indecisive, letting ball cross him. It was his corner and he should have cut it out.

I mostly agree on Hamer with the possible exception of the third. He started to come out and then just followed the ball across goal, leaving himself out of position for the shot. I think he was disappointed in himself if his reaction was anything to go by.

As for Woodman, he's just had 2 seasons as first choice for a team that's finished in the top 6 of the Championship both seasons. If he's not ready for a lower half PL team like Newcastle after that, it may just be that he's never going to be. Plenty of time to prove everyone wrong of course.

Edit: Missed Longlostjack's post above. What he said.
