Had a very pleasant walk across the Somerset Levels this afternoon as I do most afternoons but this time took a camera with me and saw some interesting birdlife.

My missus has taken down the suet balls from the feeder now all the starlings have gone.

Replaced with Niger and Sunflower seeds its now Goldfinch central.

Saved two sparrow chicks which i found at the bottom of the Garden, luckily enough they must have just come out of the nest and were pretty big and strong so i named them Adolph and Goebbels, hand fed them for a couple of days and off they went, was well chuffed. :)

Nice pic Doc. Its good when they sit still, isn't it.

There's one particular telegraph pole we drive past most mornings and the same buzzard is sitting on it probably 4 times of our every 5. Definitely creatures of habit. Birds of prey bigger than the hawks/falcons always seem to need a rest after a meal. We had an osprey round here a few years ago and it just sat on a tree stump in the middle of a lake for at least 4 hours to my knowledge after catching a fish.

A shot from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path this afternoon.

Apologies, not a bird pic, just wanted to post this photo I took this morning and this seemed an appropriate place rather than start a new thread. [TBF, I was actually looking to see if there were any interesting birds or animals out there]
