1) What, specifically, was it/is it that has resulted in the negative reaction towards Thomas Frank? (Note: no "s"!! :) ) Is it all down to his reaction to the Rico Henry sending off last season?

2) Why do you think Cooper set up/employed the tacticsl he did against in the game a couple of weeks back? I was really surprised, as I expected a decent game between 2 footballing sides. That was highlighted even more when I watched your game v Norwich last Friday, in which you did 'out-football' them. Just wondering why you didn't try to play the same way against us?

Hopefully nothing too controversial there to start with!!! :)

1. It'd have started there, but he's shown himself to be pretty true to that interview. Someone with his arrogance and mannerisms just isn't someone who people from Swansea are going to take to.

2. He wasn't happy with the performance, and has talked about it a lot since in interviews. We aren't good enough of a side to play well in every single game this season, we're going to have off days and that certainly was one of them. The performance we put in wouldn't have been the plan, even if we looked to try and sit a bit deeper we'd have hoped to do a lot better in possession. We've since put in some good performances and wins together to put it right.

We've certainly shown an ability to play in our usual style against you, in the game away from home this season. The same question could be asked of why you didn't play your usual game earlier on in the season?
Thanks for the (sensible!!) answers. 😀

1) Still interested to know exactly what comments were said/have been since, that display an arrogant attitude? As for mannerisms, I assume you lot aren’t overly keen on Cooper either then??!! 😀

2) It wasn’t really the performance I was questioning per se. All teams have off days. (Including us, believe it or not??!! lol) It was just the fact that you seemed to be set up, from the first minute, to try to stop us, rather than play your normal game, as you did against Norwich on Friday. I just found it surprising/a bit odd........

In answer to your last point/question, we didn’t change our style in the home game against you, we just didn’t play well enough. Probably due to how you played as much as anything else. We didn’t set out to try to ‘stop’ you though......

As a moderately sensible supporter on here, I would say that Brentford have become the Man Utd of this division ( without the history) and your manager akin to Fergie. He moans about everything and your players appeal to the ref for everything. Yesterday was a prime example. Your keeper made a bad error and your team tried to blame everyone instead of taking it on the chin. If Middlesbrough had been given the stonewall penalty and been more clinical instead of goal ( plus the slip by their defender on the halfway line) you would have not looked anywhere as impressive as the result suggests

Hello Swans!!! (Or should I use "Jacks"??)
Visiting "Brentford Boy" here!!!

Seems like things are cranking up on and off the pitch between us, so thought it might be fun/interesting/useful to sign up and engage in some genuine (hopefully non-offensive!!) debate.

Just wanted to start with a couple of questions:

1) What, specifically, was it/is it that has resulted in the negative reaction towards Thomas Frank? (Note: no "s"!! :) ) Is it all down to his reaction to the Rico Henry sending off last season?

2) Why do you think Cooper set up/employed the tacticsl he did against in the game a couple of weeks back? I was really surprised, as I expected a decent game between 2 footballing sides. Welcome to a non-deluded and none arrogant fans forum, must make a nice change for you.........😂😂
In answer to your first question regarding Thomas W*nk (note: no ‘er’ or ‘s’ !!!😄), for me it starts with the reaction to the Rico Henry sending off last season but then moves on to the arrogance and lack of respect that he shows and then there’s those big bug eyes...............!!!

As far as your second question is concerned I’m not so sure that Steve Cooper did set out to play the way that we did, as he’s said in interviews since that the way we played doesn’t sit well with him. He fielded probably the strongest team possible on the night and we just had an off night, whilst Brentford played well. For all the possession and shots at goal you had you barely looked like scoring (unlike your games since where you’ve scored a few) and when we went down to 10 men we were happy to take a point from the game.

As for all the arrogance shown by your lot recently it’s highly amusing and as one of your more sensible posters stated on your forum recently “ I'm really not happy with all this self-praise. Self-confidence is fine, and we've got a great collection of players with a fair shout at going up automatically, and even as champions, but let's not forget what pride cometh before.”
You have become the team everyone loves to hate and if you fail to get promotion there will be 23 other teams laughing their socks off !!
Thanks for the response.

First point, pretty much the same response/questions from me to my post above. Plus, if bug eyes are a big issue for yo, then again, presumably you have similar issues with the Adonis that is Steve Copper??!! 😀

Second point, again fair enough teams have off days, but it really did look like it was a pre-meditated approach.....

Lastly, fair enough, to me the fact we’re now “the team everyone loves to hate”, shows we’re now seen as a genuine ‘threat’ in the division by opposition fans, rather than the “tinpot lovable team” who everyone used to patronisingly pat on the head when we first got promoted.

Man Utd of this division??!! Well that’s a first!!! 😀 Better than being called a “Bus Stop in Hounslow” as we are by QPR fans!!! lol
Really don’t think Frank moans about decisions any more than any other manager. But I would say that wouldn’t I??!!
Definite foul on Raya yesterday (which was backed up by the pundits on Quest earlier) due to the elbow from Saville, as was the one by Bidwell in our game v you, but agree he should do better on both occasions.
Yep, 4-1 flattered us yesterday, but we’ve had games this season where we deserved more than we got. I’m guessing you have similar examples in games too?? It’s what makes the game so great isn’t it!!

Tomas Franks is more one-eyed and than a purple-headed trouser snake. A massive bore who plays his own fans and the media like a fiddle. His team is a horrible bunch of overrated cheats. If he was our manager we would love him. It’s gonna be great when he finds a new muse, Brentford fans won’t be used to that kind of thing and the pain they are going to feel. Impact is imminent.

For me Brentford is a club very much in the shadow of Chelsea , Fulham and QPR . Fair play to them trying to elevate their club on the pitch and structure but sadly their supporters struggle with respect on every level sadly.

Interested in your comment “It’s gonna be great when he finds a new muse, Brentford fans won’t be used to that kind of thing and the pain they are going to feel.” What do you mean?
You do realise that 3 of our last 4 managers have left for “bigger/better” clubs don’t you? And attracting under-valued talent (both on and off the pitch) and developing them for future careers, is part it our operating model, and a big reason behind our successful transfer policy?
It’s something we’re very much “used to” and the reason why there’s very rarely wailing and gnashing of teeth when our best players leave. As with Watkins and Benrahma this season.(Of course, the £55M we got which has been reinvested in the squad does help too!! As does the fact that Watkins’ replacement has scored more than him at the same stage last season 😀)

If Brentford are that much better than us and the rest of the league why are they not running away with it? They have played the same number of games as us and are only 1 point ahead of us. Looking at the table bollox are they better than us.

28 to 33 million for Ollie Watkins is a good deal for the Bees. Didn't realise he went for so much after a 1.8m move from Exeter.

Brentford, Bournemouth, Norwich have generally looked as good as if not better than Swansea for the first part of the season.

Swans didn't do all that well against Hounslow Bus Stop FC and the Bees do look like the strongest team in the EFL at present.

All Cooper needs to do is to focus on jellying our new entrants and if they can improve and set the team, the septics will be happy.

Morris in particular looks like the missing link to coin a phrase, I can't see a better front two than Ayew and Lowe and if we can add a typical and prolific no.9 to the dynamic duo, the Swans attack will improve.

Fyi SB our goal against you was never a foul, bidwell jumped straight up for the ball and raya just bounced off him, a terrible piece of goalkeeping, but I will give it to you, I thought boro's goal was a foul.

Re your questions, I echo what most people have said about your manager, he has become one arrogant man, he expects everything to go for his team and it rubs off on not only the team but the fans, they too have become arrogant, I put all this down to sky picking your team as their current darlings, it's a bloody shame as your club have always been a proper football with proper good honest fans but it has changed over the last two years, it also coincides with you moving to your new stadium.

You might think all these comments are sour grapes but if you look at us, we have always tried to play football on the floor, we have always tried to get the manager to push this philosophy sometimes not, we moved to our new stadium but never ever got above ourselves even in the championship or the PL even though we became very well liked because of the way we played.

In fairness, apart from Fulham, Charlton and Orient fans (who are mostly decent) Brentford supporters are no worse than the rest of the Laaandan clubs mobs, a bunch of chopsey, gobshyt pricks, dressed from head to toe in Stone Island clobber, with a Burberry baseball cap and scarf thrown in for good measure.

How can we forget how the Brentford boys turned up in Briton Ferry to get pwoper nawty and got chased off by an old man and a dog?

We’ll agree to disagree on the Bidwell challenge. Some of our fans thought, like you, that there was no foul. Having seen the incident replayed on video, plus after match “stills” of the challenge, I’m in the “foul” camp......
I’d still like some concrete examples of “arrogance” from Frank, that make him any different to 99% of managers (including Cooper) who defend their team, including the way the play, both before and after a match......Also, you say he’s “become” arrogant. When do you think this happened? Were you OK with him and his “non-arrogant” approach a couple of seasons ago?
Interesting that you think that as a group of fans ‘our’ new found arrogance has coincided with our new ground, particularly as we’ve only has 2 games in it where (2K) fans were allowed in......
Maybe you think that we’ve ‘become’ arrogant because we weren’t on your radar before?
Must admit Sky do have a bit of a ‘love in’ for us at the moment, which we also find embarrassing at times.....
As for ‘never ever got above ourselves’, maybe you can point me in the direction of where Bees fans have called Swansea ‘tinpot’ and a club with ‘no history’? I’ve got more than a few where Swans fans have said the same about us.....

As long as you are comfortable in your skin....

Arrogance is not a pretty sight, neither is the truth sometimes but here it is.

We were all disappointed on here with the way we played but we got just as many points as you. The consensus on here is that we could perhaps have benefitted from doing what we did at your gaff and completely dominated and we'd be unlucky to draw.

You weren't unlucky to draw as you created next to naff all and played nicely in front of us, couldn't beat 10 men that played as poorly as I've seen all season, despite taking the lead with about 15 minutes to go and having all the ball. Our goal was not a foul (look in the papers for the score if you do not believe me). You might not like that but those are facts (with a little bit of opinion based on the evidence of my eyes as regards how poorly we played). This indicates that you are nowhere near as good as your lot and sky would have people believe.

I think you'll go up as you do have a decent team in this league. If you stay in the prem for a while you might start building something that you can crow about (another ugly sound). Until then wind your necks in, as you have nothing, zero, zilch. Maybe if it works out you might even win a trophy or play in Europe one day.

It wasnt a foul, as I've said bidwell jumped straight up for the ball, raya jumped into bidwell and bounced off him.

The first sign of franks arrogance that we noticed was his behaviour after sending off last season, he was moaning like an old woman, it was a definite sending off offence and his moaning on sky tv got his man a reprieve, he knew exactly what he was doing as he knows that sky has started to warm to your team, his behaviour has got worse in the last two years which is when you have become skys little championship pet and as I've also mentioned your players are acting the same on the pitch, they moan and bleat to the ref after a decision has gone against you, it has all come from the change in franks behaviour, we do have one moaner in ayew and he does piss us Jacks off with it.

I dont remember your team or frank behaving the way they do now when I visited your ground 2 years ago, it has changed since you knew you were going into your new stadium and when sky adopted you.

Fwiw we have a bigger history than you, we have been in the top division more seasons and recently won a major trophy and competed in europe, I'm sure i can speak for most loyal supporting swans fans by saying we have never believed that you were a tinpot club, those comments have only come out since the change in your clubs and managers demeanour.
