• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Joey Barton was unavailable for comment.
Former top womens MLS referee turned VAR expert.
Probably the most qualified voice we have had on TV analysing VAR decisions ever since its inception.
Joey B must be unable to sleep a wink right now

Decisions like that should be voided, it had no influence on the goal FFS
If you watch the trajectory and spin of the ball in slow motion, you can clearly see that both are completely unaffected by whatever contact is deemed to have happened so wrong decision imo.

She did a really good job explaining why the Swiss player (Bamgardner?) got booked when sliding for the ball against the French keeper. He got there first and got the ball, but she explained the law well, even if it does seem unfair to the attacking player.

On TalkSport just now, a guy working for BetMGM was saying that a woman from London has gotten five out of five correct scores. She's waiting on Portugal to beat the Czechs 3-1 tonight to win £2 million. He was saying it would be the first time they've paid out on a Super 6. 🙏

This is one of those where VAR can be a double-edged sword. People want consistency, so the VAR referees apply the letter of the law consistently. Common sense in this case would have said the ball hitting him made no difference to the subsequent play, so let it go. However if they make judgement calls like that, it makes people howl about inconsistency, so they can't win.

Nothing but bad rumours about that firm. They clearly havnt offered any kinda cash out, so let's hope she takes em to the fckn cleaners.

Yes, you're right, they can't, but the phrase we hear a lot is "clear and obvious". The ref didn't call that one but it surely cannot be argued that he made a clear and obvious mistake and even if the ball did touch the player's fingernail, he definitely didn't gain any advantage from it and all the people I've spoken to reckon they should have let it go? I'm sure the only people who would disagree would be Slovakians!

Slightly disappointed with Turkey. I thought they'd have nicer teeth.
