Further to this, as the plan to make a Director of Football appointment has become common knowledge since I made the original post. The only update I have been given that feels worth sharing, is that Matos has been a breath of fresh air at Fairwood. He is very enthusiastic, personable and the staff who have come in with him have only added to this. They all work long hours and make all of the staff, no matter the size of their job, feel like they are key to the side heading in the right direction again.

Just so there is no unfair narrative concluded from this, it is not a poor reflection on Sheehan. Sheehan's departure was not celebrated internally, he was also an incredibly popular person at the training ground and staff and players alike were very sad to see him go and maintain a lot of respect and goodwill towards him. Unfortunately morale had dropped due to results and the writing was on the wall for Sheehan and his staff, which had gradually chipped away at the mood around Fairwood by the end. You do not need to be a saint to be a football manager but there is a sense that getting the little things right, such as being popular and making it an enjoyable place to work are easy wins to help give you the chance to push the whole club in the right direction.

A few January targets have been mentioned but I have no interest in sharing that sort of information as it feels like the transfer market can be very chaotic and clubs look at and discuss hundreds of players to end up signing two.
Need more updates like this. Brilliant read 👌👌👌👌👏👏👏

The people who think that we should be selling Vipotnik for £3m need to be sent for a lobotomy
2nd top scorer and the 3rd best minutes per goal in the division
While playing for the side with one of the worst service provided to their striker

Vip is a odd one. A player who pops in and out. Doesn't watch the ball when it's being passed to him from Vig. And fumbles his legs sometimes. I have been an avid supporter to him, but I would be looking at minimal 10 Mil. At present. He isn't a premier league player. Imagine it will be international if he goes and we should get more.

Can
You
mention the positions we're looking at?

If he hits 18+ he's worth more than 10 mil given his age. Any other club would be asking the same so why not

£25m for Vipotnik and Galbraith is a heck of an ask given the combined sales of Piroe and Downes was about £18m ish.
On current form. And let's say Galbraith stays with us and improves. He will go for easily 10. Vip as well. So around 20 in my mind. Maybe I'm being to adventurous.

Downes was sold for 9m with another potential 5m in addons
Piroe was sold for 12m with another potential 4m in addons

Pretty sure Piroe triggered every addon (goals scored and promotion clause)
Not sure about Downes though

I wouldn’t like to sell Vip at this moment in time, but if you had to put a value on him in the January transfer window, you surely have to put a value on him way above 15 million, and I say that because we paid, what was it? 7 for Idah in the Summer window. It has to be a lot more cash, this time of the season, hopefully he will stay.

We didn’t get £12m for Piroe.

We did get a promotion add on but I haven’t included similar for Vipotnik / Galbraith as that’s so dependent on where they go and what they do.
