• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The Preston Party Thread!

As a promotion push against 2 teams just( ish ) above us and having just lost to another one above us then dropping another 3 pts IMHO would be the end of any promotion hopes, so it just has to be 6 out of 6.
Well today was 1 ticked off and 3 points in the bag.
Alot of games are going to be sleeves rolled up and today was one of them.

👍

Today was ugly wasn’t it. It wasn’t a pretty watch and Bristol made it a very tough game. We may sometimes lack quality but this team have now got heart ❤️ 🦢

Terrible crowd today guys,Lisa will be very cross.
3000 fewer tickets sold than could have been if they’d linked the match.

That’s somewhere between £100k and £120k of net revenue once you take tickets and spend inside the stadium into account.

We’re selling the naming rights to our ground for a whole season for that sort of ballpark under the present agreement.

It’s a missed opportunity. As they will realise.

I suspect they were caught out by the enthusiasm people have for seeing a famous person pitchside for 5 minutes…

Yeah, have to say, I bought my ticket because I was planning to see my sister and so was in Swansea anyway, I didn't expect it to sell out, although I was taken aback by how sparse the spaces were even then. Some people are nuts, clearly, but It'll be nice to see the ground well populated again. If I'm being honest I have no real idea who Snoop Doggy Dogg is.

Whatever gets bums on seats to be honest.

The reality is that this is all probably the inevitable outcome of PSR. The Americanisation of sport.

It’ll be a matter of time before you start to see Wrexham vs Man City being played in New York. Much as the NFL plays games here now.

I personally think it’s all awful but it is what it is. We can’t ignore it if we want to progress.

Before Snoop Dogg bought some shares he could have walked past me in Wind St and I would have been none the wiser.

And to reiterate. No money has come into the club as a result of any of these ‘investments’.

Whether any money has been invested at the American company level is unknown. But if it has, it hasn’t gone down into the club.

Ahhh so this Snoop Dogg palaver is doing us harm then?

We've sold more tickets for this football match because an American rapper is at the stadium than when we played Valencia in European competition.

People are fucking mad (and I quite like rap music).

No.

Just saying we haven’t received any investment into the club from these high profile people.

The last investment in the club was in November 2024.

They may or may not have put money into the US holding company. Not possible to tell as it’s in Delaware and, therefore, secret.

Maybe if they linked it to a train ticket from London you might have attended the match.
