So last night I was thinking about those who have either been shipped out, told that they have no future at the club or just straight up frozen out by RM since he got here... and was surprised to see that the list is enough to fill out an entire starting team.

-------------------------------- Benda ---------------------------------
Stevens ------ Bennett --------------- Williams ------------ Ogbeta
---------------------- Fulton ------------ Walsh ----------------------
Oko-Flex --------------------------------------------------- Garrick
-------------------- Joseph ---------------- Whittaker --------------

Others who didn't make the cut include Hamer, Congreve and Cullen.

Some of those have been shipped out, some have stayed to fight for their places (with varying degrees of success) and others have been thrown under the bus and subsequently frozen out for not playing to instructions.

Now I don't know about others, but when you look at that XI then its a pretty strong looking side with some bite in midfield and real pace and attacking threat on the flanks with two solid goalscorers up top. Could argue that it is missing a creative number 10 but having seen Fulton over the years I think he could have stepped into that role, he has a deceptively fine touch and an eye for a pass when allowed to play with freedom.

If that was our starting XI I would certainly be worried about going down

Bennett, Williams at the back is not solid - none of us know enough about Ogbeta or Stevens. Garrick almost always flattered to deceive and less said about Walsh the better.

ANd certainly wouldnt want a forward line of Joseph and Whittaker ahead of Piroe and Obafemi

You mean the Joseph and Whittaker who (admittedly in league 1) have scored a combined 17 goals between them so far this season compared to our two strikers who have managed 8?

We know that Bennett wasn't suited to the RM style of play, but in a conventional back 4 we also know that he is an excellent defender. Similarly Rhys Williams was left hung out to dry somewhat by RM, he was put into a defence still very much finding their feet and was left exposed and his confidence was shot after that.

Absolutely so to the first point - there is little doubt that Piroe and Obafemi are better than Joseph or Whittaker

Bennett is the back end of a career and was making enough disaster games two years ago under Cooper whilst I firmly believe Rhys Williams is overrated although accept your point on him

I wouldn’t take martins word as gospel when it comes to rating players. Congreve playing instead of Cooper at the start of season is a big red flag as far as I’m concerned, benda and fisher aswell; .
