This Railway strike

They have to go through a lot of training to drive those things.

Boris and co can waste literally billions on fraudulent and dodgy deals for covid equipment and covid furloughs, but tell working people they can't expect pay rises to match inflation.
Message for the Criminal - feck right off! Power to the rail unions, followed by the teachers, NHS staff, bin men, etc, etc......

In a large workforce which is heavily unionised this is the inevitable result, and it won’t be long before the next sector plans something similar.

Is it justified? Probably so.

Are there others that are deserving of a pay rise? Absolutely so and I will put front line NHS workers at the front of the queue.

Breaking News.
Another crisis and another disappearing act by Bojo. This time it’s hospital.

I howled with laughter when I read that it’s an operation on his nose.

He’s having a few inches taken off.

They are saying it is a minor op, didn't know lobotomies were minor ops.

Good on them. Going out on strike is the right of the working class man (obvious few exceptions).

If they feel they are being screwed (because only those doing the job will now) I fully support them.

There are few drivers on strike (they are in ASLEF), RMT are all the guards, ticket collectors, cleaners and the maintenance workers. Hence the government claims of high median wages are somewhat exaggerated by including the higher paid but non-striking drivers.

Aye, it's the Tory mob trying to turn working class on the working class. It was ever thus.

Given comments I have read and heard on the radio, people seem to think these are folk on 50K wages. So the disinformation is working. Most are on reasonable wages, but a combination of wage stagnation and poorer conditions is the driver. It would be easily solved with a little compromise (the sticking point is over compulsory redundancy as jobs are replaced by tech like drones). Unfortunately our lazy and incompetent Transport Secretary can't be bothered to intervene. Perhaps if he removed his tongue from Bozo's rectum then a solution could be found.

Given inflation is running at 7 or 8% at present any pay rise significantly less than that is a wage cut, think we had just over 2% probably one of the lucky ones, but that is still a pay cut, and it's been that way for many, many years. I completely agree with Pego, all the money that's gone 'missing' during the pandemic, could easily cover a decent pay rise for all sectors. You really couldn't make this sh!t up.
