Nothing is 'inevitable' with our owners.

For starters, they clearly sacked Duff without having a replacement lined up ready.

Now they're being publicly humiliated (yet again) by not being able to land their first choice target, as Sky are reporting a bid has been rejected this morning.

It's the John Eustace 2021 debacle all over again. Slightly different reasons, but the end result is the same - we're the reverse Mounties, we never get our man.

They are absolutely hopeless. Clueless, all of them. No idea how to run a sane football club.

Let's not forget Levy and Spurs like playing hardball, likely they want a decent amount of cash on the table for it to progress.

But also if you are Chris Davies and want to turn it down without burning bridges for the future you just ask Spurs to turn down the approach so you don't have to turn it down directly yourself.

In fairness, he was running down his contract and not much prospect of renewal. Plus Trevor Birch knew our process inside out and took full advantage.

When you compare that to Nathan Wood situation it makes you think it was the right decision, no way we should have turned down 10 million.

He will have some form of non-compete clause in his contract with Spurs, which means he is not allowed to discuss other employment opportunities while his contract is active. Technically, he needs permission from Spurs to talk to Swansea, not the other way around, but practically that's not the case, there's no doubt that conversations happen all the time at a minimum with an intermediary like an agent, but for anything official to progress it needs to be done above board and with the relevant contracts in play adhered to, or risk being sued or possible sanctions if any apply from the governing bodies.

Disagree with Wood. You can bet your bottom dollar that if he went to a Orem team and did well the club would be hammered for selling him for 10mil. Our fans are notorious for that nonsense. Price for Rodon was bang on given he didn't want to be here (don't give me the I'm a Swansea boy bollocks)
