Trade Up

Boro were terrible today, that wasn’t a test. Preston were equally garbage, although I wasn’t at that game so judged it from the chair. I’m pleased that he’s given us some respite and breathing space, but I don’t see a long term option here.
Coops, mun. You're missing the point, in the same way some more feral, anti-Cloob posters are looking so very twp right now.

How about our richly assembled latent talent showed us what they're more capable of, unshackled from the shiteness of the MArtin-Willy ways ?

Sheezy and the Quorum has shown the way - shown the way OUT of the MArtin-Willy-Ways and INTO the New.

Warra massive achievement. Full stop.

Portsmouth, Cardiff, and a whole host of other teams were also garbage and stuck a hatful on us.

His inexperience. We don’t need a novice at the helm.
Sheehan is doing well compared to the previous bloke and the one before that which isn't that difficult.,

It doesn't mean he's the person to take us forward. I honestly think the ,majority of us on here could get us playing better football than Williams.

I hope we don't get carried away and make a knee jerk borderline emotional decision and give the gig to Sheehan full time.

Precisely this. I worry that the non footballing brains at the top table won’t see it this way.

We had a clown in charge of us who liked to see Key marauding through central midfield, only to leave huge gaps behind him. The only person who couldn’t see the flaw in his tactics was Williams himself.

Whether it's coach or player swap, what's clear from the last few games is that our midfield now functions and does the bloody job it's supposed to do. It is providing more energy and spark, wins the ball more and tries whenever possible to play it forward.

That hasn't happened since Cooper was our coach.

I cannot tell you how much I'm enjoying not having the garden gnome in the team, doing whatever the feck he wanted, playing sweeper because it suited him and we didn't have a coach with the balls to bollock him or drop him for keeping on doing it.

I'm loathe to give Andy Coleman any credit, but selling Grimes is the best bit of selling business since we managed to persuade Sheffield United to give us £20m for pisshead McBurnie.

Williams being garbage isn’t a reason to appoint Sheehan. Well done to Sheehan for delivering the recent points, but I don’t see long term progression under him.

As usual some fans immediately react to the initial success of a new manager due to issues with their predecessor.
It's still very early days in Sheehans reign and the results and the football shown today have been welcome.
Whether this success will continue who knows.

It does seem that Sheehan has the players engaged given the togetherness apparent at the end of yesterday's game.
Will that relationship be able to continue as Sheehan becomes established as the gaffer and has to do some different things who knows.

I'm warming a little as following the Presron game it seems he set out to play to suit the pitch and Prestons style.

I have concerns Boro made a few tweaks at half time which made them more competitive in the second half yet Sheehan kept things as they were.

Still a way to go but it was good to see Curt celebrating with Coleman at the final whistle both with smiles in the directors box.
Live to hear Curts opinion as I remember overhearing a conversation he was having with a vice president where he stated he was unsure about Duff.

Let's not knee jerk...

But he insisted after Boro that even if he is offered a permanent role at Swansea, he could say no if the conditions are not right.

"Like I said, I'll have a conversation at the end of these two games," Sheehan added.

"And it's not. Do you want the job? Oh, yes, please. It won't work like that.

"What is the plan? Where do we want to get to and how do we want to get to it? How do you want to do things?

"There's so many different aspects. I've been in this position where opportunities have been presented my way, but I want to win, I want to be successful."

It’s not a given he’d even accept the job, the club might try and get him to focus on a possession based style which imo isn’t what Sheehan is all about, also he knows full well what goes on behind the scenes in the transfer windows he’ll want to feel backed in his first managerial spell no doubt.

When experience is mentioned any Deputy who moves up to manager will have gained just that.
If the manager was poached because he was doing well. You use that experience and tweak it where necessary.
If he was garbage you use that experience to know what to change to improve.
In AS he has used the latter.
