Trust Legal Action Called Off

I feel now is a good time to remind everyone that I resigned from my position as a consultant / affiliate to THIS trust board around 4 months ago.

I am doing so to make absolutely certain that absolutely no one thinks that this is in anyway anything that I have supported or been involved with since the Trust board never saw fit to make it public that I’d resigned.

It’s also a good time to remind people that Andy Godden resigned from his advisory position to the sub group at the same time. We have no idea whether the sub group continued in any form after we left.

I can only apologise to everyone who is angry and hurt for being ultimately unable to influence the decision makers.

I was a firm believer in the Trust. I still believe that ultimately legislation will be brought in to ensure that clubs that are such a vital part of our communities are protected from those who will never understand.

However, I will be resigning from my Trust membership in due course. I can’t speak for Andy on that.

I'd probably add here that under the "old" board I was involved on an advisory group - it was deemed by this years board that service was not neededbut with you and Andy involved I was angered to not even be given the courtesy of an explanation but comforted that two people would be thereto drive itthrough

However, the fact that the two of you left said it all for me about where this was heading and unfortunately I cannot see much logic in remaining a member other than I want to attend both this evening and Thursday largely because I want to ensure that the likes of you, Andy, Cudey, me and others who worked for the interests of the members and the organisation (and not ourselves) are not represented in any way - I certainly would not put it beyond certain members to do that.

Thank you for what you did for us as (likely former) members

I also find it galling that us members have yet to receive any notification from the Trust on this.

They did send an email -I can forward you a copy but I cut and pasted it earlier in the topic as well

It’s a little known fact that when the new board was formed I was asked to get involved again with the legal sub group despite no longer being a board member. I didn’t contribute much because my involvement was to be around communications and helping with that when the case proceeded to court. I’m not a lawyer or a financial expert. Anyway, it quickly became obvious that the new board was absolutely determined to settle at any cost despite and against the very strong advice of the actual experts on the sub group, mainly Lisa and Andy G. As Lisa has confirmed above, they both resigned as a result, Lisa also resigned from her position as finance affiliate to the board. Todays capitulation is no surprise to me or I’d imagine to either of them. The day the Swans Trust effectively committed suicide. Still, at least they’ll get their spots in hospitality. I’m more than happy to say publicly that’s what many if not most of the current board are in it for.

Ah ok - I haven’t had one yet from them. No worries Phil, I did see your post earlier and have read it. No doubt mine will arrive in due course ! Not that it really matters in the scheme of things.

Update - found it now, In my junk folder, which is probably where it belongs !

Ive just submitted the following e-mail

As a longstanding member I am very disappointed that this decision has been made without consulting the membership. As a result I want you to accept this e-mail as my resignation from the Swans Trust and will not be renewing next year. Good luck increasing the membership after your glaring disregard for those current members and their wishes

We are deeply unhappy, inasmuch as what can understand of the Trust's statement. We will wait until we hear from the ex board members on here from the meeting before considering resigning, after all these years of membership.

Chris Golledge - Trust board member working on the legal sub group has confirmed the deal has been signed - no terms can change

SIgned, sealed and then advised to the members. Makes the sellers look above board and transparent

https://www.swanstrust.co.uk/chris-golledge/

And I am stillmystified as to why our football club has issued a statement to say this is closed

A statement from the Trust yes
A statement from the owners yes
A statement from the sellers maybe

But a statement from the club? Will they make one if Levien gets off aparking ticket next?

So potentially, the trust will receive around 3 million if we reach the Prem and could theoretically have a 5 percentage holding.. f*ck me, there goes the rainy day fund

As one last thought before I go and get something to eat there are several of the current Trust board who were always dead set against the legal action and "righting the wrong" it was what led me to resign when I did back in 2017

It now seems they had their way - all those wasted hours and effort on their behalf sold for a few days out in the directors box

It stinks. Swansea City means naff all to these people

The board are there to serve the membership.

Or not it seems.
