Vipotnik , Bianchini & Eom

That's why there was such animosity over Martinez departure. He not only went himself, but took Graham Jones with him, signed Scotland and also, though he wasn't our player Jordi Gomez, who may have signed here had he stayed.
Well that, plus he was a bit of a prat in what he said about us.

I got to know his partner (now his wife) a bit while he was here. Used to spend time with her during games. Lovely person. Which makes me think he probably was as well. I think he just got a bit carried away.

If we're looking at a winger who creates an average of twelve goals per season and this fella rocked up, I'd be asking if we kept the receipt.

The minimum requirement of a winger is to beat the full back, this guy can't beat an egg.

Not to compare Ronald to Beckham, but he played as a winger and couldn't beat a full back to save his life. Now if Ronald could cross it like Beckham...

I'd like to leverage most of our current crop out the door to be honest mate, we need a massive overhaul during the next three windows to get us competitive in this league, I'm hopeful the new owners will facilitate the changes needed, it will take time.
If you were a new, new owner jaxs, I’m pretty sure as one of the forum’s most insightful posters you’d give the current young crop a proper tilt at it with a proper manager who knows what he’s doing.
I know I would.

And there you go again, in your post about not harking back, you hark back.

This is a thread about our young guns, right now.

What you ought to be focusing on is how best leverage our current crop, keep up…..
Never heard Santayana's quote about those who fail to learn from history then?

We have some cracking young players coming through the U23's, I'd certainly give some of that young crop a chance, for sure.

Well actually it’s a thread about Eom, Vipotnik and Bianchini. Which has been expanded a little into Ronald as well.

I think we can best leverage them by buying players to replace them in the starting 11 and having them as squad players.to be honest. As they’re aren’t, at present, good enough to mount any sort of challenge in this division.
Yeah it’s a thread about our young guns.
And if you were to don your accountant’s hat you would know what you suggest isn’t an economically viable way fwd.
Seriously, try putting yourself in the shoes of one of our new, new owners. Think creatively and positively about the art of the possible, instead of always harking back.

We couldn't afford to sign Gomez ....it contributed to Martinez's decision to leave and the compo we received for that whole situation helped us on our way

And a lot of our fans slated him for being lazy!
Scotland was a terrific player for us . Fabulous with his back to goal for us , strong and powerful, quick turn, one touch , bang ,goal. Remember him scoring a couple of goals against Bristol Rovers at the Liberty, dragged us back from the jaws of defeat. This lot today we have wouldn't lace his boots.

I’ve just seen the phrase “the art of the possible” and I’m not even working.

Saturday night has already peaked.

Yeah because your suggestion of sacking Williams and his entire team is a great use of our money. As is allowing Darling to run down his contract and leave on a free. Or to pay for Peart Harris to be with us.

As I said, I’d keep Eom and Ronald, possibly Vipotnik unless we could find someone to buy him.

But if, as reported, we are in the market for players, we need a new wide player and a new striker. Plus a midfielder. And a full back. It’s a better use of money than signing players like Cyrus Christie to pad the numbers. It doesn’t need to be all now. I don’t think we’ll go down and we won’t go up so we can plan for the summer.

Fulham away in the cup was a special, special performance. Was sitting upstairs in that old stand that Fulham had behind the goal and it was fantastic.
