His lack of pace, blah, blah, blah…. I’m astonished by the amount of people looking for any fault the can find with him. If it’s not his pace, it’s his positioning, or his workrate.

Well he’s made you look like a bunch of mugs. He knows where the goal is, that’s what matters. The experts on here are spouting bollocks again.

Stick him on the pitch often enough and he’ll stick it in the back of the net now and again, can’t ask much more. His goals are good goals too.

It’s great that he’s started to find the net a bit more and his goal in the cup was a beaut. He’s been on the bench for a reason though. He needs to show some consistency now if he wants to nail down a place.

Guilty as charged, I did criticise him for not doing better with that chance. My point was that he just took an extra touch and wasted the chance instead of hitting it first time with his left, and some said he didn't have the ability to shoot with his left. I was pointing out he did just that against Wednesday, and scored, so his left foot is fine.
The one with his left at Derby last season was even better - and the turn too. People who blast with both feet definitely have an advantage.

Because Sheehan thought Cullen contributed more. He was wrong, and to his credit has rectified the problem. Hopefully permanently.
Cullen was contributing more.

Vipotnik has improved in the past two games. Let’s hope he continues to improve.

No. No he wasn't. Not in goals scored when playing upfront, which are, after all, the raison d'etre of a striker. The figures are pretty clear on that. A 5/6 week purple patch when he wasn't even playing upfront seems to have convinced a lot of people otherwise. Including you it would seem.

Cullen has been, to be charitable, not very good as a striker for as long as we've tried him there. He wasn't very good four years ago when he had Joel Piroe supporting him and Morgan Whittaker kicking his heels on the bench instead, and he's not very good at it now.

The difference in the way the team has played this season with someone competent leading the line has made the difference so obvious I'm kinda surprised that anyone is arguing to the contrary.

He's still only 23 so definitely has time to improve and now knows what the Championship is like.

Comparing Cullen and Vip is like comparing apples and oranges. I happen to like both, although that’s irrelevant to the point it’s worth mentioning.

Make a list of the attributes that make a good striker - and then compare your list to our roster..
for me pace, movement, finishing ability, first touch, ability to hold the ball and link play, physicality, work rate, heading ability, right foot and left foot are my list.
A quick glance shows you exactly why Cullen should NEVER be playing ip front as a loan striker. Even generously he only ticks 2-3 of those boxes.
Note: being “one of our own” is not a metric for sane decision making!

i agree but think perhaps the talk of another guy coming in has made him think?
i am hoping he stays and the 2 of them, him and Idah can feed off one another on the training ground and both improve
