Welsh League Cup

Never understood why a professional footballer would complain about playing football.

I couldn't get enough when I used to play.
Apart from anything else this would be a recipe for an injury crisis. The human body can only take so much.

Without the full details, would our accounts be under greater scrutiny to show any profit we made from Europe so that we don't break FFL rules. Loss from being in the Welsh Cup etc.
Would we get preferential short loan terms on the back of European income.
Even if we don't break FFL rules do we benefit by using the money to buy players or better wages?

It really is a minefield.

What about end of season when we release players and need players for a June Competition,
Players hold back on their options now, and very few transfers are made that early, will we be starting with squad players

We won’t be getting any money from playing in Europe, it goes to the Welsh league.

Not sure, as full details haven't been given, the info below from walesonline doesn't state all profit goes to the Welsh League etc

"
It's hoped the revamped Welsh League Cup could generate an additional £3million per season for the game across Wales, with the four clubs also agreeing to exclude any profit derived from representing Wales in Europe from financial regulations in the EFL or English Premier League.

We want to be successful, so our aim is the Premier.

Example

If we finished 6 then the 7th team would qualify. (Good for them)

If in the semi final of the FA Cup we beat a team, we can't qualify through the final, but the beaten team have lost the chance of qualifying through the final.

I'm sure that would go down well with opposition club and fans.
Ouch, I hadn't realised that. There are enough English fans who'd like to kick us out of the EFL and I don't want us to give them another reason.

Nonsense, footballers have been playing a high volume of matches in lot worse conditions for decades.

These are professional athletes with the best technology and conditioning programs known to man or woman.

What exactly are the benefits of this?

Do we get to keep the gate receipts for these extra games or do we gave that up along with any potential prize money?

I can see the benefit of potentially £3m for Welsh football down to grass route level but for the life of me can’t see any benefit to the club.
If we want to play in the EFL then we abide by their rules and competitions.
This back door entry is not open to the other members so should not be for us either

I'm tending to lean towards this being a negative thing for the club. Yet to hear what positives this brings us,

Would love the owners to consult the fans for our thoughts on this. It's never going to happen.

Totally agree. Unless there is something in the detail then as a business and for fans it’s nonsensical

Also says to me that the owners don't think the club will ever be in a position to qualify for Europe in the normal way.

Short sighted and lacking in ambition .
