It’s not been a quiet week again in the world of the Swans transfer window although movement in and out of the Swansea.com stadium suggests otherwise to the outside world. It has become clear though that there clearly is movement with Russell Martin very clear this week that we had turned down bids...

Nobody was fooled when it was said that Morgan wasn't brought back to be sold, don't blame him not wanting to comeback and be happy for him if he does get a move, its clear Martin doesn't want him.

Some were furiously going with the Martin line Max that he was here to play.

It was abundantly obvious to anyone sensible that he was coming back to be sold and perhaps feature if there was no reasonable offer after January.

I'm assuming we only had a small window to bring him back as part of the loan deal. I syspect we utilised it for the very reasons outlined

1. Protect him from injury in the case of a bid
2. Have a "new signing" should we not get the expected bids

Either way there seemed little chance of him playing for us in January

Obafemi close to Burnley then according to Nixon, sooner it’s done the better for both parties. Sad (and expensive) that it’s ended like this.

Probably for substantially less than what they were offering in August too.

He'll be back out on loan by September!

£3m apparently, nightmare!

This is a bizarre transfer. What on Earth to Burnley want him for? They’re 16 points clear of third place and he’s no use to them in the Premier League.

Some were fooled but not many.

No, he clearly doesn't want him. Even if he did he wouldn't be allowed to have him in January because that would scupper the sale of an "asset".

Under current circumstances £3m is more than I expected.
Agree. A player who has had sporadic form at best and clearly has question marks over his application. Still turned a 2 million profit if that is true. It probably will be undisclosed anyway

This is the most plausible reason for the Whittaker recall, it was most likely that a recall had to be initiated early January to enable the loan club an option to find an alternative player. The decision was taken at a level above RM & is most likely a contingency option for Paterson & Oba moving on and us not getting our targets.

The owners total lack of understanding of football & the fact that RM appears to have little interest in playing Whittaker suggests that they might well accept an offer to continue the claw back of their I’ll fated ‘investment’

Bid rejected for Whittaker from Rangers then.

Would be hell of a move for him.

900K turned down we’re after 2M apparently.
