West Wales Holidays

Amroth has got very busy. About a year or 2 before lockdown I used to love nipping down there by 12pm. By 3pm it starts getting packed.
Well worth a visit

Newquay and Aberaeron are nice but clean off busy.
Don't rule out or laugh at Pembrey or Burry Port.
A lot of investment and decent places to eat.

The Ship Aground Inn in Pembrey is a hidden gem, plus the Portobello Inn in Burry Port is £2.50 a pint.
The Boat club is nice by the lighthouse.

The Cellar Restaurant at Aberaeron have opened a hotel/guesthouse above the Restaurant, called Y Seler it looks stunning, but at 200 quid a night is massively steep.

Just want to go somewhere and park up and walk everywhere or catch a bus if needed, not have to drive, we can both have a drink then.

If you are prepared to bang a tent up in some campsite, you'll save an absolute fortune.....though I know, that you know that already......I love a good camping weekend personally....

Mrs wants a relaxing break Bryn, been a bit of a taxing time with our youngest for about 6 months or more he's disabled, she just wants a nice break.

Really sorry to hear this NJ, must have been tough. Hope you can find something and you get the downtime you're looking for

Cheers we'll find somewhere, he's quite settled lately, if only he'd confine his sleeping pattern to night times, instead of day times

Have you been to Tenby lately.
I was told earlier the actor Charles Dale has a music memorabilia store there.

What about going a bit further North? Maybe somewhere like Barmouth? We stayed at a B&B called No 6 Porkington Terrace, it’s about £120 per night including a proper breakfast. Have a look at it.

The other option would be looking at Skyscanner and grabbing a cheap flight somewhere fr a few days. Simon Calder the travel guru talked about Gdansk and Sopot on the Baltic in a BBC Radio Wales show last week, mate of mine raves about Krakow. If you can get decent flights, the hotels can be reasonable.

I much prefer Saundersfoot.
Try the Gower Hotel

Oi Max, for 50 quid a night you can come and doss in my spare room, you can then walk to Barry Island, enjoy a ride or two and a few beers, I can also point you in the direction of some "interesting" pubs

It's the family business and has been there donkey's years. You can often see him behind the counter.

Carnage in both I'm afraid. Everything is really busy. If looking for somewhere quiet you're better off looking at West or North Pembs, maybe into Ceredigion.

Places like Tresaith and Llangrannog will be carnage for traffic. Even midweek during the school term there was no parking to be found at either. There's loads of static caravan places around there that do rentals. Barkers Leisure have got a lot of sites dotted around Pembs and Ceredigion.

Was in his shop last week, he was behind the counter, my missus had her photo taken with him, a very nice man indeed 👍
