Also,

Experience. Not personal experience but I’ve seen the impact the condition and lack of institutional support for myself. It’s better now than in Johns youngest years obviously and a lot of that is down to him. But it’s such a debilitating condition.
Yes, but I think as far as the film, it’s raised a hell of a lot of awareness of Tourette’s, years ago I used to think it was funny, when they showed snippets on tv or you tube about Tourettes, for me 15 minutes into I swear, I didn’t laugh. I just felt compassion. And what the poor bloke had to go through. Hopefully the support will follow.

Agree. I think the film and John Davidson have done a superb job in raising awareness. Let’s hope better support follows.

He says himself that some of it is funny.

Ok, so are you saying I am wrong, for feeling compassion? Yes, it’s funny, but In the context of the film, surely some parts aren’t funny, in what he had to put up with, through no fault of his own.

It’s just raised awareness for me, but I wouldn’t disagree with you on saying it’s funny.

No I am not,I am saying that John Davidson himself has said that some aspects of it can be funny.

Yes. I understand. I must admit years gone by, I’ve laughed my head off at inappropriate untimely language at people, but when you watch the film, the funniness goes out of it? Maybe he’s just saying yes it’s funny, but please show some acceptance, we just can’t help what we say.

Got a customer in my workplace , not a yongster and has 2 carers to help him adapt .

If he has a meltdown the situation can be difficult , language and insults follow soon .
Occasions occur when he has scared other shoppers .

Had a chat with one of his carers at a calm time , severe autism and tourettes diagnosed .

How these carers on peanuts for wages cope with the difficulies involved , a nod to them .

Watched season 2 of Peacemaker recently. Enjoyed it. I’m not really into the DC/Marvel cinematic universe thing, but I gave Peacemaker a try and it’s good fun. It’s more an anti-hero take; if you like The Boys, you’d like Peacemaker.
