• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Much better today, getting forward quicker and with purpose. Thought Grimes was very good, especially the first half.

We are still giving up too many chances though, they could have scored a few, and so could we in fairness.

Onwards.
I don't thimk Grimes reverted to centre back at all and unsurprisingly he / we had a much better game

It's wonderful what a little direction and front foot application can do.
Makes the 0-0's and the 0-1's even more frustrating when we know we have this in us.
Turning this from a one off into consistent performances will be the task now.

If there’s any criticism, then it’s Grimes and his set pieces.
Get him off them, as he’s absolutely useless at beating the first man
The one he just punted out of play would have been funny if I hadn't burst a blood vessel.

If I'm not mistaken, he also floated a couple of crosses straight into the arms of their keeper.

I have never known a footballer so utterly useless at one very specific aspect of the game to be indulged in the way Grimes has been with set pieces. And not just under Williams, it's Duff, Martin, Cooper, Potter as well.

Why has there been no one looking into this? How has it gone 6-7 years without this being picked up on?

Surely there must be someone in the squad capable of delivering a decent dead ball into a dangerous area? Either that, or Grimes needs to stay behind after training for some extra work on his dead balls.

We've had better dead ball specialists recently - Hourihane, Brewster? - and Grimes has given way to them, so I can only assume that he's the best we've got at the moment. Which is nuts.

They seriously need to work on their dead ball delivery, all them, not just captain fantastic.

It's the difference between championship players and world class players. The dedication to become better than they already are.

Never in doubt, mush.

Luke Willians barmy army...

This squad will have their good moments and poor moments.
Given the size of the squad and age scattered through it then we are going to be in for an inconsistent season with confidence being a big thing to deal with.
I know posters are saying the league is poor and it is, what I would say is this league suits us because we are going to be inconsistent ourselves this season.

I think it was clear that Williams is the guy going forward, defensively we are a million miles to what we were a few seasons back but has had to take away from some of our attacking threat from full back up until recently........was it a case of building confidence in Darling and Cabango and this is why we have seen Key and Tymon now starting to get forward more in the last 3 games or so?

It's funny with football fans, we lose and there is moans about playing players out of position-Abdullai.
We win and there is no moans about players playing out of position-MPH

Long may things continue as they are.
We go into the Burnley far more confident, wouldnt suprise me that we come back with something but on the other hand I wouldn't be shocked if we lose 3 or 4 nil.

Yes, all those managers (3 have gone on to manage in the Premier league), are wrong about him, and you are right.
