Williams out

Vig
Key - Darling - Cabango - Tymon
Franco - Grimes
Bianchini/Eom - Cullen - Ronald
Vipotnik

We've seen enough quality of all the above to suggest there should be consistent performances in there. But nobody has improved or is improving.

Don't you ever ask yourself why Ronald has gone to shit? Why Vipotnik scored goals for fun everywhere else but barely gets a chance now? Why our best full back is being asked to roam into central midfield at every opportunity?

Even Eom started better than he is now.
Vipotnik scored regular in the Slovenian league and got 10 in ligue 2.
Eom started well, got injured and is just getting back into it.

Bianchini on the wing hasn't worked when he has played there so wouldn't suggest that being a good choice.

How many games has he started on the wing?

Or are we talking about the odd sub appearance? Is that really how we are forming opinions now?

But you didn’t, and neither do your your cohorts.

All you do is bash the squad, the owners, the culture.

You’re clearly a football man . What’s your take on why Willy plays Inverted FBs? You can ask Dai fromPT if you need to 😉
I did though!

We know why he plays inverted full back, drops Grimes back and splits the centre halves.
Does it work all the time? It clearly doesn't all the times as it shows Key, Cabango and Grimes up but when it does work it makes those 3 perform above their level.

We are a mid table table team with an average squad and sit 12th.

You seen him surely!
One game, one of our players had to grab him and walk him towards where he should have been standing.

Hey Daps - what's your view on this ?...... (ANH has yet to respond, as per)

In response to Pego (re Willimas' obsession on possession):

'...Exactly this, spot on.

Think about why wily Willy does this - it’s got everything to do with him and bumping his Possession Stats - it’s that simple:
- Inverted FBs to retain possession;
- Matty dropping so deep, to retain possession;
- the reluctance to play wide and expansively, to not risk losing possession.

All of which leaves as sitting ducks to the counter. But he cares not a jot.

He’s doing it cos his hero Martin did it. He’s chasing that same dream, in the same way but he’s not as canny as Martin.

Many more now are calling him out for it.
We don’t have the same level of SM queens and forums banging their chops on his behalf.

Folk should now be questioning why he was sacked off from our Club before 😉

Yes i did. But it was a substitute appearance.

If he scores goals up front and was bought as a quick winger perhaps we shouldn't be basing his future off one bad display.

Vipotnik was deemed not even League Two level recently. Cullen also.

Marc Guehi was pretty shit in his first few outings, the lad turned out alright after a run in the first team.

Indeed.

If players are getting consistent game time, week in, week out and struggling then it's understandable if they get criticism. If they're getting the odd game here and there, some sub appearances, shifting between positions because the manager still doesn't seem to know where to play them, then some allowances have to be made for the player.

For far too long the first reaction of many when a player struggles is to immediately blame the player. Few take the time to consider if there are any reasons why they may be struggling.

Couldn't have put it better myself mate.

I think Ashley Williams started like a minge in League One too

So many people are so desperate to nail their colours to the mast with Williams that they're more than happy - like Luke is - to throw the players under the bus.

They're being thrown under the bus in favour of a manager with a win rate similar to Michael Duff. With a better squad (arguably) than Michael Duff. A manager who has delivered a promotion from the non league whereas Duff had success several times in the Football League.

The manager would ease some of the pressure on himself if he started playing players in their natural positions.

It's hard to write a player off based on the odd minute of game time here and there.

Well that's it, Football fans are fickle and to call Vipotnik league 2 level and also Cullen just highlights fans views and expectancy especially of their own clubs.
We are doing OK given the squad, finances and quality at hand.

Today is a dissapointment but in the grand scheme of things.....we are doing OK. I think at this stage getting rid of our manager would be really silly and make many outsider say WTF and rightly so.

The lad hasn't had a fair crack of the whip being played in the position he was signed to play.
The lad was signed to play wide left, cutting in. As was Ron. Their preferred positions. Flo happy to play central, Ron not so. Culls happy to play wide right and cutting in.
Eom signed to play 10. Wants to play 10. His best position by far (he's not a wide boy).
Horse's mouth 😉

And what does Lukey do ?

All being played out of position by an under-cooked rank amateur coach with his sights firmly set on his own self advancement. At our Club's significant cost - a familiar story.

We're not really doing ok through are we.

The football on display is absolute dogshit and our wins have come with us hanging on for dear life until the end of the final whistle.

How many games have we won comfortably under Williams?
