That can’t be right, I have it on good authority that Williams flew out thus morning? Where’s my good mate MD10 when you need an authoritative, in the know view?

I did joke that the player wouldn't be playing when we got there.

Hope they got money back on flight tickets and hotel

Didn’t Doug Sharp head north on a scouting mission to have a look at the "St Mirren No10" and ended up signing him.
Storey goes the St Mirren number 10 who he was sent to watch was out injured and Doug was unaware and ended up signing the stand in 10, Paul Chalmers...
I don’t know if that’s true but I hope it is cos it’s brilliant. Good old Judith.

Haven’t heard that before, would love it to be true though 🤣

As it happens, Paul Chalmers is the son of the late great Lisbon Lion, Stevie Chalmers. Paul married a Swansea girl, and his daughter, Stevie's granddaughter Natalie, still lives in Swansea.

I've been told the same story by a couple of lads in fairness
Think that has become the one that started off as a joke and now known as a true story.

The one that did happen with Doug was Swansea sound phone in, fan rang up asking how they can justify playing a lone striker up front in Steve Torpey.
Doug replied that he isn't a loan striker and he is our player, we paid good money for him.

Great days.

That's a shame. I had visions of him and Coleman getting mashed on the jazz fags and coming home with some random clog wearing centre forward called Clarence. Or Edwin.

Never mind. Maybe next time.

I just read that and chuckled. Wasn't even playing hahaha

Fond memories of Paul Chalmers he was decent for us and scored some great goals and important ones.
