Summer Transfer Window

Not fully aware of the Sheffield United midfield situation but would be a guaranteed started down here. Perhaps the fact we bid for him in January could sway it? We clearly want him.

Montague on Obrien today

"We are talking to Lewis and having good conversations with Forest.

"We would love to be able to do something. It’s just timing and matching it all up with the financial realities."
I’m still hearing from multiple sources that O’Brien is likely to be coming back

Off to Sheff then ...
That 3rd midfield spot is the most important signing in my opinion.
Vip will score goals, a solid centre half would be nice but an O’Brien replacement should be top of the pops for me.
Sheff Utd normally sign 3/4 Man City midfielders on loan don’t they?

What if the O’Brien replacement is O’Brien?

I’m a transfer window dreamer but that wasn’t one.
I’d be over the moon if there’s a chance. He’s outstanding at this level.
I still have no reason to doubt that all of Sheehan, Josh Key and O’Brien were lying to me about another year on loan.

Obviously, situations can change if bigger clubs come in offering the world but all 3 were confident that the deal would get done.

Nothing has changed yet.

No chance we get Davies. I would love it to happen but being realistic, he is way out of our wage range and will probably still be a PL player next season. We are allowed to dream though!

First interview. Nowt wrong with what he said there, he knows it will be a step up but if he didn't have the confidence to back himself in a higher division then I doubt we would have made the case to recruit him.

Only a two year contract and several mentions in the signing article about strength in depth and competition for places tells me that we will look elsewhere for a Darling replacement if the inevitable turns out true and he moves on to pastures new.
Height we haven't had for a while, he looks like a giant. I am happy with this signing. Not everyone has to be that wow signing 2 year contract and experience. I'm happy.
