Perhaps we are banking on big sponsorship deals?
Although the people in charge don’t strike me as reckless enough to just drop millions based on that.
Well they said at the forum that they are now talking to sponsors bigger than what they had access to before Luka & Snoop so maybe some deals are imminent. Have no idea, just sayin

Getting Back To Transfers.

My Strongest Side: When Transfer Window Shuts

Vig

Key - Cabango - Burgess - Tymon

Galbraith - Franco - Malick

Inoussa - New Striker - Eom

Subs - Fisher - Cullen - Bobby Wales - S Parker - Widdel - Ronald - Casey - Santos - Marko

I would still say add left back and possible winger to that. I've excluded few players like Fulton etc for obvious reasons.
Ronald for Eom and you’re there

Had his patchy moments, such as nearly losing the ball a few times and looked like he got up to speed with things. Give him a few games and he will be really good.
Considering he probably hadn't been at the club long enough to learn everyone's name by kickoff, he must have made a huge impression in training to go straight into the starting eleven so has the potential to be a really exciting player for us once he's bedded in.

I remain convinced that our central midfield is now one of the top 3 in the Championship

Galbraith, Yalcouye, Franco, Widell
Staminic supposedly will be announced on Monday too
I'm closer to agreeing with that after yesterday.

Once they've trained and played together more to develop their understanding, that core midfield 3 (Galbraith, Yalcouye, Franco) could be frightening. Next step is working out how to create more chances/link better with the attack.

He was caught out in possession a few times but hopefully will adjust to this league.
Yep,held onto the ball longer than he should and got caught out more as time went on and he tired.

You can see he is the O'Brien replacement as they were so similar. We need to remember that he is only 19 also.

Wouldn't want him in DM hence my understanding now why we are in for Stamenic.

It'll come. Of the likely wide players two of them are also new (Widell and Inoussa) and Eom has barely been involved during pre-season due to injury. Lots of links to form and understandings to meld, but in a month or so we could be a very handy team indeed.

Widell is not a wide player, he played as the advanced midfielder when he replaced Yalcouye.

When we were on the front foot he was behind and to the left of the striker with Franco taking up a similar position on the right. The wingers were further out wide beyond them which let them try to create 3v1 or 3v2 overloads when the full backs overlapped beyond them.

When we needed to defend he would retreat along with Franco to tighten the space between Galbraith and the forward midfielders and press aggressively to try to win back the ball.

He's also been used wide since he got here. Think he'll alternate between the two roles, although I concur that he'd probably be more comfortable centrally, the same as Eom.
