• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I think with the O'Dea connection, the main thing you're going to get from O'Dea is a genuine reference to his character off the pitch which is an important part of it.

In yet another change of heart, I now worry that Idah is too similar to Vipotnik. He seems to be a decent finisher, if little else, offering a bit of height. Is that not exactly the problem we have with Vip?

It remains to be seen if our main problem is the personnel or the system. We provide our strikers with very little service currently. On Tuesday, we provided Vipotnik with exactly one shooting opportunity which he took with aplomb. He made his other chance himself, when he closed down the Plymouth player's back pass.

Despite his good work on that occasion, it does feel sometimes like he's lacking when it comes to mobility, movement and pace. If Idah can provide a lot of what Vip does but is an improvement in those areas, he could be a big upgrade.

I think the statements about a 'wow' signing came from the main man on the other site, who no doubt got it from someone allegedly 'in the know'.
Always amazes me how those among us with all embracing insight into players around the world can't wait to rubbish players whose names appear ,generally I suspect ,without seeing the player kick a ball.I find myself in that position of ignorance, so tend to hold my tongue.
I have to admit that I did once have a few lines printed in the Evening Post with negative comments about the bad habits within the Swans midfield of the time, which in my opinion wasn't performing competively enough.Of course in those days your name and part of your address was published with you letter so one ran the risk of running into Herbie or Geoff Thomas in town, quite different to now .
At the moment judging by the recent signings those at the Club seem to know their business and I'm hopeful that any further signings will be improvements for the squad./
To be fair here, Guebells was clearly the big signing and went a good distance and we failed at the death.
Keith has also mentioned us looking in Scotland a few weeks back so looks like he was spot on.
I think Keith has a connection that will be as good as you can get.

Idah is nothing like Vip imo, he’s a channel runner and likes to get in behind the line. We don’t have anyone that can do that effectively in the squad at the moment.

My friend in Glasgow who is a fanatical Celtic fan texted me earlier about Idah.

“The worst player ever to wear the hoops. And there's been a few.”
He’s just bitter he missed a pen so they didn’t qualify for the Champions League

Watching Celtic TV on YouTube, called guess the Celt, it turns out Darren Odea and Adam Idah are big friends.
there should be a press meeting anyone know what time it is? they may get a bit of info there? 9 hopefully)

This is a good point, there has been plenty of occasions where our midfielders have played a defence splitting pass through on goal only for no run to be made by the striker, especially when Cullen up front.
