• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Doesn’t need to be said that he’s a talented player but it feels like the type of move that wouldn’t really suit us. Where would he play? Surely we’d have to accommodate him in the 10 and we don’t play with one currently.

Not going to happen anyway.
"Where would he play?"...
Anywhere but here.

If it's TalkSport reporting it, then it almost certainly won't be happening.

There's no need for us to bring in anyone else.

Looking at Vipotnik and Idah’s showreels, they seem quite similar players in many regards, with Idah having more Michu like ability to float through defenders like a ghost as well as some tricksy footwork, whereas Vipotnik has slightly more raw power (although Idah isn’t lacking in that department either). Would love to see them start together some games - maybe with a single floating winger behind them like Laudrup did?

Don't see the sense in it.
It would depend on the circumstances surely?

If there was any chance of him returning to anything approaching his previous form he’d be the best player in the championship by a country mile. Same would apply to a bottom half PL team.

That’s a big if, of course, and it would be carefully assessed I’d imagine. But I’d trust people like Modric making that call rather than fans. It could go wrong and it’d be important that we could get out if that was the case, but he’s still in his twenties and it could be defining.

I’d expect him to go to a bigger club than us though to be honest. There was talk of Leeds as well as both Glasgow clubs.

Interesting times though.

I wouldn't mind seeing us use a 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 now and again to keep teams guessing. Either offensively or defensively. E.g.

If we’re looking towards an older player in the free agents then I guess we are looking for a midfielder who can score goals as we don’t really have that.

Alli
Ziyech
Eriksen

Possibly.

I’m not averse to 3 CBs and WBs at all, just a bit scarred by our failure to make it work under Martin. I wonder if Parker or Samuel’s-Smith could play the WB role eventually? Or Galbraith?

Don't like the idea of Alli 1 little bit though he'd probably win a few pens though..🏊‍♂️
