Is Dele someone you’d like to see us bring in
Yes, defo, in so many ways a potentially massive win win win
Fills the gaping chasm in goal-scoring AM space, elite level surpassing anything else in our division (and potentially above), huge huge PR ++delta , massive dose of much needed experience in the middle to help us wrest back control like we do.....

You ?

He played 30 mins v Watford, an hour v Plymouth and the 90 v Wednesday.
Give him a bit of time mun.
The bloke is so thick he didn’t notice Galbraith running the entire show and Inoussa skinning people and providing one assist but was unlucky he didn’t get 3? Oh this beauty loves Russell Martin and grimes. Best put the idiot on ignore as he’s clearly some form of supremacy narcissist

I genuinely think Galbraith with the physicality of Franco and Stamenic could be the best midfield in the EFL. Inoussa is not afraid to attach and I think Widdell a good bench option.

Morning Dapsy. You're always treated with all the appropriate due respect you deserve, as you know 👌

Soz, hadn't noticed you'd said that, but thx for pointing it out.

The thrust of the sentiment is: we still have far too many miz sods who always choose to have a pop at our cloob instead of actively supporting - most esp the online armchairs who never show up, and properly support. At least the 'Yanks out' twp sheeple have been muted, for now.....

If it benefits the Club to get more players, then I'm all for trusting our super clever senior management to get more players - the right players, for the right gaps and for the right reasons. For me (and a few notables) I'd like to see a more commanding, controlling midfield pivot - a la Leon. We're way too out of control in that space - both offensively and defensively. Stamenic looks promising but needs to show up more and grab the game (he sometimes hides when the obvs outlet is on); we need a goal scoring AM and a winger who consistently skins his marker....etc
As some posters have pointed out our PR machine is in overdrive, long may that continue to keep us ahead of the game.

This new chapter at the Next Level should be embraced. Joio.
Fair reply and thank you for decency with it.

Not pulled me around though with the post and I certainly wouldn't be upset for someone who have a pop at the club although the numbers are getting smaller in that area.

Stamenic is a player more than capable of playing the holding role as is Galbraith so I think that area is covered.
Do we intend to play with an AM? Sheehan seems to be happy to play a DMC with 2 all action midfielders rather than an attacking midfielder who can hit double figures with goals.

Winger wise, we do seem to have players who like a ball to their feet and I would like to see a winger with genuine pace who is capable of running onto a pass.

I don't think that going by my views above that Dele Alli would be beneficial for us.

As for the PR, it's looking good and long overdue and no one can really knock that as it stands.

Doesn’t need to be said that he’s a talented player but it feels like the type of move that wouldn’t really suit us. Where would he play? Surely we’d have to accommodate him in the 10 and we don’t play with one currently.

Not going to happen anyway.
He isn't a talented player, he was a talented player and has not been so for years.

There is a lot more to being a footballer than just the physical capabilities, mental capabilities are really important, moreover in the high the level you play at.

And sadly for many reasons, he does not have the required mental capacity to perform at top level football any longer.

His love of Grimes knew no bounds but I thought he was a Steve Cooper lover as well.
I seem to remember him slagging off Russ & Williams at any opportunity- unless I'm mixing him up with someone else.

We finished 7 points off the play offs last season despite the Luke Williams effect, a horrible run in the new year and a threadbare squad.

Primarily why I've tended to lay off the "Our transfer windows have been shite!" narrative.

We've signed some decent players, but we've appointed some hopeless managers. The three years wasted between Russy and Luke Williams did us more damage than anyone we brought in during a transfer window.

We finished where we did because of a strong finish including some dead rubber games. 7 points off the play offs, 12 points off the relegation places. Had we lost won of the last games we won we would have been nearer the latter than the former.

Much the same as the second season under Russell Martin we got closer than we probably should have after a dreadful season. The previous windows were dreadful, just look at how many players are still here for the evidence
