Montague

Same as it was yesterday.

This bit was interesting in Wales Online:

“After all, when agents and sources close to deals discussed matters relating to Swansea, Montague was always cited as the key point of contact.

Montague was also the one to sit down to discuss transfer matters with the press. Montague was the man to discuss recruitment with fans at the recent fans' forum. Montague was the one to sit alongside Sheehan when he was unveiled as the club's new manager.

Many will understandably feel the claim that his job was effectively redundant simply doesn't add up with the narrative spun over the last seven months.”

As an aside, no doubts any longer as to where some have been getting their info.
You wish to elaborate or do you wish to keep your council?

As it goes, I think my thought is similar to yours.

Nothing to say really.

I just think it’s a shame he’s done a great job this window, is much admired by much bigger clubs than us, and now people on here are saying stuff like ‘go back to Notts County, this club is too big for you’ or sentiments to that effect. It’s literally ridiculous.

I'd say this is 100% correct.

The needle moved when the investment come in and our board won't be happy scratching around bottom half / relegation battles searching for unknowns in random leagues like J1 praying they become half decent and making half a million profit on etc.

If you can't handle the pressure then get off the horse.
What investment is that?

No investment has been made in the club since November 2024 and Montague’s appointment was in February 2025.

in the cut throat world of professional sports- keeping your talented off field professionals is like the hunger games as bigger clubs constantly circle.
Maybe this is less about Montague and more about finding a way to reward and retain Worth for a few more windows.
I am very confident re financial fair play as we are starting to load up on players with potential high resale value.

FFS , bloke joins club bloke leaves club, I love the way some cant accept that they are just FANS with an opinion nothing more.

Pretty boring place if people didn't interact with each other on the forum, though.

Info Montague said himself:

"Adam Worth is global head of recruitment and analysis," Montague said, explaining the current structure. "He is responsible for identifying the players.

“He works very closely with James Morgan-Snowley, our head of scouting and they have a team of scouts and data analysts who work beneath them to work within the process identify the players.

“At the end stage of that process, those players are brought to Alan, and I am in on those meetings as well.

“That group with Adam’s leadership, determine which players we are going to go after.

“Then it’s my job to try to do the deals, speak to the players and sell them the project along with Alan.

“All targets go through it. It’s a process Adam has worked on since he arrived last October.

“Every player we have identified so far has gone through that process.”

It's the reality of the situation.

I think it's fair to say that the takeover and immediate investment was the start of the dial moving but things seem to have really ramped up since the move to take Coleman out of chairman role.

What we have seen since is the owners group taking full control and a real change in how the club operates. They appear to be very decisive in their actions and not afraid to make big calls. We haven't been this way for many years.

Montague was appointed prior to this, so i'm not sure we should be too surprised if he isn't the person they want. Gorringe on the other hand seems to have really impressed them, hence his swift elevation to CEO.

Is Morgan-Snowley still with us?
His name doesn't seem to get mentioned much.

Which big clubs are these out of curiosity? Are we expecting him to get a prem job off his time here then imminently?

Looking forward to seeing who it is and how he does.

Was Montague appointed prior?
The owners took over in October 2024 and Montague arrived in February 2025......4 months after they took over.
I'm guessing, they got Montague on board on the recommendation of Coleman.
Who is the owners go to now? Gorringe? Dimi/DrP?

There are certain sections who see Gorringe as an issue and you hear about his failings at Bristol Rovers.
